I think the recent research shows that using talc can lead to cancer. (though everything seems to cause cancer these days.)

 I believe it's part of the same family as asbestos. There's this about it... going to stop using it after reading this.

 Baby powder is made of talcum, which is not recommended. Though I don't know why.
