Question:

Should I use the Fleshlight powder renewer on Realistic Feel dildo's (UR3 material)?

I understand that the renewing powder is a must have for a lot of male masturbator sleeves to keep them elasticated and last longer, but do you think I should use the powder on a dildo made of UR3 material to keep it fresh and well kept?

I ask because I have recently made an order on LH and I added the powder as well to go with my mans new masturbator sleeve. I have also ordered a Doc Johnson UR3 dildo for myself. I read the blog post saying to use the powder on realistic feel materials to keep them longer and well looked after, but is this just for male sex toys - or can I use it on other realistic feel sex toys too?

Just wanting to check that it is safe and alright to do so, or if it wont make much difference either way?

I don't know how true it is but I read on another site that the renewer powder is just pure cornflour so I can't imagine it'll do much damage.

I'm sure it's just overpriced corn starch in the renewal.  In which case I think it should be suitable for use but I'm not entirely sure.

yep it is basically cornflour, only differance really is that it comes in a handy container rather than a bag in a cardboard box with morrissions printed on (or similar).

I have read that it's a good idea to use it on some realistic material dildos and vibes, but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks folks. I have just asked on the Live Chat (I have only just found out where they have hidden the link!) And they say that cornflour does exactly the same thing and it should be perfectly fine to use on my dildo. The dildo and the fleshlight are made of the same material apperently, so there is something new I learnt today!

Bit of a rip off for a tub of cornflour though. :(

I agree, when I first saw the powder I thought it might have something different mixed in, but nope.

Does feel slightly odd to keep a tub of cornflour in the sex toy box though.

Get one of those baking sieves/shakers and decant it into that. It might not look as bad.

Something like this

Is it really a good idea to put cornflour in yourself? I might be talking from ignorance here but wouldn't that encourage infections?

Does it feel less odd to take the toys down into the kitchen...?

cornflour is similar to talcum, does the same job at least.

i assume you dust it on and wipe it off before use.

Lols at the 'does it feel odd's I was thinking of putting some cornflour in a container so it looks a bit better like sharry said. But I guess it would be odder to go looking for some in the bedroom when I need to thicken up a sauce!

Sweetlove - I actually don't know entirely how to use it. I would assume it was rubbed in and then left as it stops the toys from going tacky. But it would some what defeat the point if it was put on then wiped off again... My order arrives today, so I will let you know.

Loha.

You should use some sort of a powder on any realistic feeling or latex toy after giving it a good clean. There are so many realistic materials that it's difficult to advise of all of the names, but I thought we'd noted UR3 in the guide. Whoops!

Traditionally, I've always used talc, but in light of recent research I've started using a renewer on everything from toys to my latex clothing. :)

Oh, you did mention UR3... only, I was unsure if the powder was only advised for male realistic feel sex toys or if it was to be used on insertable toys too.

Yes. Apparently Talcum gives you cancer now?! Yikes!

I should also note that this is my first realistic feel dildo I have ever got, so it's all brand new to me. I'm so curious as to the feel. I'll bet it's lush. xx

To update this thread, the renewing powder WORKS! It prevents sex toys being tacky and clingy and keeps them better protected from bits of fluff and pet hair and other foreign bits that seem to cling so easily.

In another thread, I mentioned difficulty with keeping sex toys clean, particularly this new realistic feel dildo, and silicone toys. This powder seems to be the answer as when lightly coated it stops the material being so clingy and prone to fluff etc.

I am surprised and somewhat smitten! Very effective for such a simple thing!

To answer Sweetlove's question. Yes the powder is left on and safe to use during use - though I would suggest some lubricant, or giving it a little rinse just before use. We know what cornflour is used for, after all..

--- And to those who may be wondering... The dildo feels great! Just ever so slightly on the large side for me, but I can get it to fit eventually.  Could be a little firmer, but otherwise it is a wonderful toy! And it does feel pretty realistic!

Did anyone ever try baby powder on realistic feel toys/dildos??
