Please could you wise bunch throw some ideas into the mix for a first sex toy

    Thanks Slinkyxx

Something small and non overwhelming is best place to start, maybe the silencer bullet? It's on sale at the moment too :)

My first toy was a rabbit which I loved dearly for a good few years. This one is small and unintimidating http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=16407
I also bought my friend her first toy once and got her a bullet vibe which I know she loved. This one looks really nice for a young girl http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=31452

I'd start out with good quality and bodysafe materials - how I'd hope for her to continue. If your niece has had intercourse she probably won't need a miniature rabbit - I' go for a "proper", silicone one, with two motors and waterproof. Or how about a silicone dildo? (Personally I've always found my fingers perfect for clit stimulation - it's insertables I "need" to buy.)

Or how about having a look through the website together, explaining about the different materials and letting her pick what intrigues her? If you feel comfortable with it, you could also show her (some of) your toys. Nothing beats actually holding the toy and felling the vibrations in ones hand (well, apart from a full trial :-) ) (if LH had a shop with all the stock on display I'd travel there in a flash).

You can't possibly buy someone only one thing!
I gifted a good friend some toys for xmas, and although she's a little older than your niece, she's new to toys, I got her a glass dildo, a clit vibe, some nipple suckers and some lube and a tingly clit balm.

Nat I was thinking something small like the jelltish g-spot vibe that also stimulates the clit. opinions please?

The silencer is that the toy that has everyone squirting? I heard lots of people talking about 'the silencer' that gives people one heck of an organism! Its already in my wishlist waiting patiently lol xx

Vanilla kink the rabbit looks extremely unintimidating .. perfect size for a newbie. I've added the rocks off one too my Valentine's list 😄xx

Talia that's great advice I'll go through the materials which are good and the ones that aren't so good

I wanted to buy her a couple of toys, a rabbit like the Tracey cox one or the happy rabbit 2. I might go for the Tracey Cox rabbit, the rocks off bullet and the silencer.

What do you guys and girls think? xxx

The RO and the silencer are both clit toys - maybe a rabbit, one or other clit toys and a dildo or a straight vibrator - offer choice so she can find what she likes!

This wasn't my first toy, but (the LH discontinued version of it) was one of my firsts and definitely the one that opened my eyes to them: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=26067 and I was way older and married for years! It's good for either clit or g-spot, it's small enough to be non intimidating, it offers speeds and patterns to experiment, it's silicon-y safe and waterproof-y easy, packs a punch, and still is more than enough for me (larger, older, very experienced sexually) to have a satisfying orgasm. Bonus: its name is quite appropriate for the situation too!

I do own a silencer and am not a fan. It's ok, but nothing so special.

I don't know the Tracy Cox rabbit (and after my disappointment with the G-Spot vibe I'll hesitate to buy anything vibrating named TC - just looked at the video, I don't find the vibrations impressive), but if you do want to buy it, you might go for the whole 3 for £75 deal. With maybe the TC glass dildos and a LH silicone dildo (didn't you say in the other thread your niece had great fun picking out 8" dildos?)

Personally, I'm falling more and more in love with the Happy Rabbit 2 Natural - IMHO the vibrations are as good as those of the L'Amourose Denia, possibly better than the Lelo Mona and one of the patterns gives a thrusting effect - well, not quite as good as the Stronic 1, but considering the price difference, not bad at all.

But the problem with all rabbits is that they need to fit an individual's anatomy, so really one should try them on like shoes (or bras) before buying... Maybe a G-Spot vibe would be a safer bet? Something like the OhmiBod Cuddle? (Don't know it, but I've read good things about it).

I think a bullet is the perfect place to start as they are non-intimidating and easy to use. The first toy I ever owned was a rabbit which I loved so that could be another possibility.

I've never seen the point of bullets - not even for my very first sex toy purchase. I find them awkward to hold (tested with a freebie) - uncomfortable, if the vibrations are strong - and I much prefer a longer vibe that I can also use as an internal vibe (ideally it would have a flared base to be used anally - with a condom - as well). Whereas bullets are pretty much single-purpose clit vibes - unless they have the power (and price tag :() of the Tango and can be used with various sleeves (and even with the Tango's power the internal vibrations apparently don't amount to much with the G-Spot sleeve, if the reviews can be believed).

    My first few toys were;

A bullet similar to the RO bullets and the LH 10 function bullet.

A rabbit similar to the Jessica rabbit slimline vibtator

    Anal beads

And that's it until I discovered Lovehoney :)

I like the idea of buying a few bits as like a starter-pack. :)

I would go for the erotic rocket, tracey cox rabbit or the cuddle g spot toy (which is also great as a clit vibe). I would never buy anything made of jelly or rubber as I don't trust porous toys. I think it's best to get in the habit of using bodysafe materials right from the start, so I'd get her stuff made of silicone, ABS plastic or glass.

+1 for tracey cox rabbit, it was my first rabbit, and the first toy that got me 'there', its silicone, smallish and very sleek and unintimidating. I was about the same age when I got it, and I loved it! (Still do)
