    Hi,

I'm interested in some of the animal tails butt plugs, I've had a chat with my wife and she has come around to the idea. The bunny one is really cute, and I think it would accentuate her already cute ass.

Problem is we've never done any anal play before, so I'm thinking that £50 bunny tail might be a bit of a leapt from nothing.

Has anyone got any good advice on starting off with anal play, (I've read articles. I'm looking for user advice).

Also with thinkgs like the horse tail and bunny tail, are they considered advanced anal play?

Use lube. Lots and lots and lots and lots of a good thick lube, warm up gradually with fingers and/or a smaller toy. Stop if it hurts, desensitising gels/creams/lubes seem tempting but they're a bad idea because if something does go wrong your partner won't be able to feel anything and tell you, which can make a bad situation worse!

Also, toys can feel bigger or smaller due to the materials they're made out of - the Fashionistas bunny plug is glass, so it's wise to go extra slowly as it might feel bigger due to how rigid it is, but toys made from harder materials also seem to 'slide in' easier compared to silicone.

And it depends on the size of the toy really, I wouldn't call something more advanced purely because it has a tail on the end.

The fasionistas bunny tail is small, so would be good for anal play but for me, they are longer term anal toys i.e. wearing for 30 mins etc. You would need some decent lube.

When I first started anal play, I had a few glasses of wine to help me relax and it really helped. She needs to be VERY relaxed, otherwise it will be a discomfort and off putting. Don't use those anal lubes that numb the area, they aren't good for the body, as she needs to feel what is what.

    If the bunny tail is off putting, you could always try a smaller butt plug like;

Get youre wife to pick out a couple of beginners toys. That would be my tip. Lube and warm up info is available anywhere on the net. Since you convinced the wife to try it, I would let her make the next move.
Have written a couple of reviews of beginners anal toys, check em out.

No, plugs with tails are not advanced. It's all about the size of the plug they are attached to!

That bunny one is quite small, have a look at this blog post it has a picture with some everyday objects for comparison: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/blog/2014/10/22/how-to-make-the-perfect-bedroom/

But in so saying the shape and rigid material could be a bit much for a first timer. Going for a smaller and cheaper toy could ease you into it and make sure she is actually into it too before you get too excited about the bunny tail (I love that bunny tail btw, awesome choice!). Take a look at the beginner butt plug section: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/sex-toys/butt-plugs/beginners-butt-plugs/ you could look for one with a similar shape to the tail plug to get her used to the sensation it would give.

I found this one: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=21767 really comfortable to begin with, although it could be quite a leap moving on to the bunny in terms of size. It could at least build her confidence :) there is a set that follows on if you're interested that could allow her to slowly build herself up size wise: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=16561

And I second lots and lots of good anal lube!

I dont want to advise against those who warned you away from the desentising creams, as they both know more than me, but personally i prefer it.

Ive found a little bit of it doesnt numb but just takes the edge off. For me i dont like the initial entry of anything larger than a toy as it can sting. Once its in its fine. The numbing cream takes the edge off so its more uncomfortable than painful.

That being said, if we try and enter at the wrong angle, even with numbing cream i can feel its wrong and we stop! But if we get it right its pain free.

I also think it has a bit of a placebo effect. Just knowing its there makes you more relaxed. Its not advisible to use a lot, just like for the deep throat spray, but if you use a little then you get the benefit but are still able to feel if something osnt quite right.

My first question would be does the tail come off, it's going to be difficult to properly clean and sanitise it if it doesn't.

For beginners interested in anal I really recommend this so that you can get a better idea of what you and your partner enjoy: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=30367

It won't break the bank and you can experiment with different sensations and I think it's a great way to explore anal toys before spending lots of money on one type. I know from my own experience that it isn't always the toy you expect that is the best! I've reviewed this kit too if you wanna check it out.

I know you said you've already done your research but I also recommend this: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=1554

It's a fantastic book, with lots of handy tips and advice.

As for whether or not the tails are considered advanced, it's as the others have said and is about the size of the plug. For me, I'd say that circumference is the most important thing when considering anal toys (as it all depends on what you're already used to) and length. That's why starting off with beginners toys that are slim and tapered is a good move!

Hope that helps, good luck and enjoy!

Nope, the tail doesn't come off but it can be gently hand cleaned

Hi! My boyfriend and I are really into anal play and we LOVE tail butt plugs! If you've never played with her bum a tail might not be the best option to start, in my opinion, your fingers or your cock could put her more at ease, start stretching her and start making her understand the new feelings that anal play can give. When you feel more comfortable you can step up to a tail! We could'nt find the perfect one so we decided to create our own to fit our needs! We chose the butt plug we preferred, the one we knew wouldn't come out and would feel comfortable to remain insterted for a while, then we ordered a fox tail (same thing, colour and lenghts were chosen according to our tastes). Finally we drilled a hole in the plug and inserted the tail fixing it with hot glue! We've been playing with it for over a year and we're so happy about it! Besides we spent much less than what usually fox tails butt plugs cost! We chose this plug from LH http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=350 but of course everyone has different preferences! Hope this will be useful!

That's good elele but skin safe rubber, like that doc johnson one in your link, isn't body safe, as it is rubber, it is still porous, not as porous as plain rubber but still, porous.

Silicone is the way to go

I've actually never found a silicone buttplug that I fancied, I guess it's just a matter of chance since I choose them for their gearth and shape. When I'm here on LH I trust that all products are safe, of course it's just my opinion and everyone can take the safety measures that they prefer! In two years I've never had the slightest problem with my skin safe rubber toys, but now that you made me notice that I'll keep it in mind next time I'll choose a toy!

Good advice all round, especially about the taking it slow and making sure everything is comfortable.

Smaller and lots of lubrication seems to be a consistent message too. I'm guessing that being comfortable in this area is partly experience and partly confidence in having tried things and being a bit familiar with the feeling etc. (Like anything really!)

    Thanks everyone.
