In general I do think nerds are a lot more kinder then the big buff boys.. (So far in my experience). So my OH is a nerd and I love him to death :P Then again, Im a bit nerdy too ^^

There may be something in that, nerds are much more independent from social pressures I believe. The 'big buff' ones for example are unlikely to try pegging 'cos it makes them 'gay' or what not. I think as a nerd you're more uninhibited.

We're not worried about looking uncool because we were never cool in the first place? That works for me...

Speak for yourself - I'm well cool!

Getting excited about playing with electron microscopes isn't cool? Hmm....

of course it's cool! same as getting excited about winter coming so we can haul the telescope into a field & stargaze. Microscopy & tel-oscopy (erm) are both very cool.

Geek here and damned proud of it! Tho I used to be a Raver, then Chav/thug before I became my Geeky/Nerdy self.

Most lads do it the other way around....  Apparently I'm an exception to that rule lol.

'J' prefers me this way, Though when we first met, I was in court looking at a 9 year stretch.

I'm glad I mellowed and became the Geek I am now!

After a discussion with a group of my girly friends, I think it is safe to conclude that (for us, at least) geeks = hot!

Does anyone else agree?

What do you find attractive about nerd/geek types?

Is it just a girls in glasses fantasy? Do you have a thing for guys who know the Dewey Decimal System off by heart?

Who is your ultimate nerd pin-up?

I have to say that I find Kari from Mythbusters very sexy! A beautiful girl with a passion for physics... le sigh... does it get any better than that!?

The thing I find attractive about intelligent types is probably the passion involved. Whether they've got a lust for astronomy or MMORPGs, if someone can talk passionately about something they love for hours and hours - and you can see the excitement on their face - then that is incredibly attractive!

So... 'fess up! Which geeks get you hot under the collar (comic book and cartoon characters included!)?

My bf knows almost everything about computers and MMORPGs but doesn't class himself as a nerd cause he works out and does "manly" stuff lol.

I love it all. Intelligence is sexy.

I think that does sum it up, I don't actually find goblins and what not sexy but the intellect on display is certainly hot. I think if Ad picked up another language I'd find it hot if only becuase it would require some sexy learning!

You don't find my biomedical science degree learning sexy?

It would seem - geekery is rateable and science is often the not fun type of geekery! Having said that - I find anyone with an enthusiasm for learning/finding out about something sexy!

I find your enthusiasm sexy, your subject dull.

Me and the OH are gaming mad geeks. We just brought 10 games... We now have over 300!

The OH is much more maths geeky. I dont get it personally, just muddles my brain.

My mum is the same, not maths geeky lol. She does play puzzle pirates a lot. Then again her OH is very very geeky game wise and maths, he's an accountant.
