I have been shaving down stairs for a number of years, I've had my bikini line done once before but have been considering getting it all waxed (hollywood? is it) I just wanted opinions and advice really, I think i'd be a little embarassed getting it all out haha thanks! x

I have always had my bikini line waxed but went for the full Hollywood late last year and I love the effect.

When my lady does the waxing, she uses a tissue to tie your nickers g string whatever in the middle so that the majority of the area is exposed and then uses the ends of the issue to get to the other bits. Therefore the person does not actually tough your intimate parts.

It does hurt the first time, I am not going to lie but it does get easier.

It also depends how far you want them to take it, as when I had it done in the uk the lady did right back to my bottom and it was a great finish whereas here in FRance they do not go as far under so to speak. But if you have a good relationship with your lady I have found that they will do whatever you want.

I much prefer the waxing option as I find that shaving does not have the same feel and finish.

Hope that all makes sense. X

I suppose when you go to a beauty shop to have it done they have done it many times so no need to be embarassed. The other alternative would be to have a lady friend do it for you or even your OH if he knows what he's doing.

My OH shaves so never seen a waxed lady even though i gather it be alot smoother and a bettrer overall appearance.

    Hi Bethygrace :)

I've had my ladygarden landscaped in the Hollywood style a few times, and it's definitely something I'd recommend as an alternative to shaving. French Fancy is absolutely right in saying that it stings a fair bit the first time but it gets a lot easier very quickly. It was definitely less painful the second and third time round, and the results last so much longer than shaving. I am atrociously lazy so anything that saves me effort is a winner in my book.

There's loads online about waxing preparation and aftercare, but as someone who has had both excellent and really, really dreadful (I should really have gone to A +E) experiences with waxing, the three things I'd say are:

    1) It is definitely 100% worth it BUT

    2) It is not a service to try and do on the cheap. £25 is not an extortionate amount for a Hollywood - it's pretty standard in my experience and a shoddy wax-job is not worth the saving.

    3) Make sure they use hot wax rather than strip-wax. Hot wax is a lot kinder to your skin, it hurts much less and your skin will be less irritated later.

+ 1! Agreed! If you pay £10 for a hollywood you will probably feel it!

Pay attention to the aftercare and find a good beautician and you should be fine :) Give it a go!

Brazillian (landing strip) or hollywood (no hair) is so much nicer. i would have it any other way. as previous people have said make sure they hot wax not strip wax. much less painful and a better result.

i would say i've been to a few salons and its really important to find a good therapist for this type of waxing. try a few if your not happy with the result.
don't be shy about taking your knickers off they've seen it all before. when i go for a brazillian i use the loo before hand and give myself a good wipe round with feminine hygiene wipes especially in the summer.
also make sure they do your bum hole cos its weird having hair there and not on your mons pubis.

hope that is of some help

    Hi

I have a brazilian or hollywood every time now and as these ladies have said make sure you get a good therapist, if you can go by recommendations and ask to check they have done the advanced courses to do this style of waxing. It is specialised and if they havent been trained correctly it can be a very bad experience.

It does hurt but again it does get less painful and agree with saucy21 ask to have "up the back" done you do feel daft but its nothing to them. Hope it goes well!!

from a guys point of view, I used to shave for years and then moved to waxing and never once have I regretted it.

the results are so much more fantastic.

yes it does hurt, but literally for that split second as the wax is being pulled to remove the hair, and then the pain goes.
