Thanks for the advice lifebuoy, I don’t think anything as extreme as surgery is needed as this little problem doesn’t really cause me any harm. I can clean with easy and my sex life very good. I think I will do a little research into exercise/stretching the foreskin and then maybe see the Dr if I am lost. Thanks again… to everyone, this isn’t the sort of thing I would be happy to discuss with many people

Wow I'm not the only one then.

I have thought about asking this question for many a year but never, to worried to ask.

I had worked out that I had to clean inside on my own as a kid.

I dont remember my mum ever telling me what to do.

My wife likes it as it is and does not like uncovered penis but i would at least like sex once in my life time with it uncovered.

Now the thing is how should my wife and I explain this to my son, my wife and I have never ever pulled back the skin when bathing our son who is 9 now because I thought I was normal.

Thanks for the post I have always been to scared to ask.

I had a similar problem. In fact my foreskin was tight when flaccid (although I did pull it back when washing) and erect which made sex painful. I went to my GP and he immediately suggested circumcision.

For me this was entirely the right choice and I have never looked back.

Interesting, LV. I had a friend who stopped having intercourse with his wife because of a tight, difficult-to-retract, foreskin. He was terrified that it would retract during sex and not go back over the glans. Similar to you, the doctor took it off. But unfortunately his relationship with his wife had gone too far down the road of 'I'm not happy with you', and they split up.

    Glad circumcision worked for you.

There are some tiny white lines where the stitches were but to to be honest both you and your partner would really struggle to notice them. The key thing is to go to your GP and ensure you are referred to a decent surgeon.

Don't be tempted to go to some dodgy plastic surgery clinic advertising in the back of a magazine.

Well the appointment with the Dr finally happened. The good news is that he was able to make an almost immediate diagnosis. The bad news is that it will be circumsion. At my age I have to say thats not something that fills me with sunshine and rainbows. On a positive note, it should at least help me (medically) and get rid of the pain. Just trying to get my head around it all

    Little strummer boy,

My son has exactly the same problem and solved by circumcision (in his very late teens)

He is now very happy , we didnt realise how much it aftected him (dont think he did either) he is a very happy young man. His confidence rocketed straight away.

So well done for getting it sorted out, and i hope it does for you what it did for my son.

A friend of mine from uni had to have the snip at 19...not too sure why as he didn't want me to know that much, but he felt a lot better and much more confident afterwards.

Hope it all goes well for you LSB! :)

My guy has this so badly that literally the opening he has at the top of his foreskin is smaller than a garden pea (Can only see about half of his urethral opening and that is all.) he is 30 now. He went to the doctors a year ago because he is starting to build up scar tissue from tiny tiny tears that he gets during sex and that in turn makes the skin less elestic and more prone to tearing.

He got two options...the first he tried, steroid cream and stretching. It made little difference (Probably because he kept forgetting to do it....that didn't help) but I guess now the only option is circumcision. We are both nervous though :S

We are both worried he will lose sensitivity or not enjoy the sensation of his glans being touched due to, well, 30 years of being completely (COMPLETELY) covered. I have read into it and do know that the over sensitivity settles down over time and I am pretty sure I can learn how to play with a circumcised penis but I think it looks cute with its polo neck on! lol It is getting to a point where he is considering it. It cannot be fun tearing his skin almost every time he penetrates too harshly.

Guys who have been circumcised in later life....Do you still feel as sensitive? Does it take a long time to get used to a different sensation? Does everything still feel...as good? Do you regret it? Any advice for the woman in your life after having that done?

(Yeh, for once I am asking advice lol)

I only just went to the GP today, he's referred me to a specialist, but yes these are the questions I will have.

Hopefully the waiting isnt too long

Yeah, making the first move and doing something about it is always the hardest part when it comes to any problem or worries. Like Sedge says, it shouldn't be too long before you're back to your old self, albiet missing some skin! Obviously though everyone has different pain threshold's and healing times so don't be worried if you're still sore after a couple of weeks. :)

My mate was in a relationship at the time he had his done, so obviously it would be hard for me to say whether he was more confident when it came to picking up girls, haha. I'm sure you will be though. :)

FB, unfortunately I'm not in contact as much with my friend that was circumcised a few years ago and wouldn't feel comfortable asking him, otherwise I would have for sure!

Every other guy I know was circumcised a few days after birth due to religious reasons. :/ So I hope someone else can be of help to you!
