I can't think of anything less up my street than a meal out on valentines day (super expensive and feels very fake/forced romance to me, but each to their own :P) so I'm cooking a banquet of deliciousness for my partner and setting out a picnic in my living room. It;s our first v-day together and I want to make it special, so champagne cocktails, quails egg scotch eggs and smoked salmon for starter, and profiteroles with fruit and chocolate fondue for dessert. No clue what to cook as the main yet though!!!

If my body decides to be kind and come off its 14 day period after depo provera screwed up my cycle, I imagine tonight will be very fun indeed, otherwise I will get beautifully drunk on champagne and make it a very special night for my O/H ;)

Single - as usual - so gonna hit the treadmill and release some tension this afternoon, then spend the evening pampering myself and getting some 'me' time :)

Avoiding all restaruants - with all that over commercial twee forced "loved-up"-ness

currently cleaning and todying the house, placing scented candles about the place, then dimming the lights, finding some gentle buddhist music, running a scented bath for OH for when she gets in, followed by hour long trantric massage, then champagne, home made canapés and strawberries dipped in melted chocolate.

The tantric massage wouldn't go down too well in a restaurant.... ;-)

I shall cook dinner, we will eat by candlelight, snuggle on the sofa afterwards...we do this every night!

I may have Mozart playing instead of Metallica...a tad more smoochy!

Other half has just informed me of "ladies things", so I have madly hidden all evidence of the evening I had planned, and have instead grabbed bridget jones on the sky box.

    Going great so far.

My wife is downstairs, trying to force herself to sleep. About half an hour ago she invented an argument out of thin air and when I wouldn't bite, she closed her eyes and tried to fall asleep on the sofa. I left her there.

That's ok, I'm used to it. She has an extraordinary talent to kill any mood stone dead anytime she feels like it.
