i just wondered if this was me, but im due to have my smear test next week, im always fully shaven down below but when my smear is due i dont shave for a month, is this normal or do the nurses that do smears see shaven pussies all the time these days, personally i cant stand being hairy and cant wait to shave, just wondered if other ladies had any views on this

I'm not a lady - but have ben with my ex for numerous examinations in the past year. She is always waxed and no one ever blinks an eyelid.

I recently had to go for an Ultrasound and I am waxed and again - wasnt ever an issue in the slightest.

    shave away and be comfortable!

Shave away, there's no medical reason not to do so and if it makes you more comfortable then go for it.

A smear test isn't an operation.

of course not but medical people are used to seeing it, if I wasnt 12 and hairless when I had my appendectomy they would have shaved me...perish the thought. And for my vasectomy I was told to shave.

It's not what's on the outside they are interested in, only on the inside. Don't worry about it, they will of seen allsorts and you will only be there a short time.

Honestly they do not even look! As a health professional who spends quite a bit of time in that area I can assure you that all we think about is getting the speculum in and doing the procedure, not the shape of their bits or whether or not they've shaved!

I thought I was the only person who does this....I am not a prudish person but feel uncomfortable having a smear when I am all shaved yet I am not afraid to tell people I prefer being smooth...
