What is your dating 'getting ready' ritual?

Often most people just talk about how the first (or which ever number) date went, and maybe pass comment of something we bought for said date, but never talked (Well I haven't anyways) about the 'ritual'.

What time do you start getting ready? How long do you take? Do you buy new outfits, shoes etc? Do certain other things?

So guys and girls, what do you do?

It depends on the person and what else is going on in my life if im honest

If i have to trek a couple of hours journey on public transport like i have for previous dates i don't really bother with much ( as by the time i get there make up has smudged and hairs a mess ect)

and if im fitting in a date after a full 8 - 6 day at uni without the chance to go home then im not going to get glammed up for it, just have a breath mint and go.

Once me and the date agreed to something really casual on a saturday so it only really involved jeans and a t shirt, as it was the cinema.

I've never really done evening dates or anything really formal though but if it was that situation i'd probably dress smartly and have a shower before heading out

I dont really do make up or clothes as a person so wouldnt do anything special in that sense for a date - the person should know the true me.

I havebeen in a relationship with my OH for almsot 3 yrs now and I still love getting ready for a date even though we now live together.

I can be tihnking about what to wear days before our date, will spend time on the date night removing body hair, take a long shower and spend about an hour on my hair,  makeup and nails.

The whole getting ready  makes me feel good and gives me a great sense of self esteem knowing my OH will love the extra effort I have taken.

We are staying in a hotel next week for one night and he has arranged dinner. I keep thinking about what I should wear and changed my mind at least 10 times already lol

I hope I never lose this sense of excitment for a date

I agree with your Smirnoff. The getting ready, and prepping is definitely the best part of it, and I get such a boost and never feel sexier. I have to say, depending on the date, but if its a meal and drinks and going all out - I start prepping 4 days ahead. This includes shopping for a new dress and exfoliating and tanning.

Depending on the time of the date, I start getting ready about 2/3 hours before mainly because there has been a few times things go wrong but usually its shower, shave, wash hair, oil, dry hair, make up, style hair etc. I am often ready early which often I spent looking in the mirror checking for out of place hairs or something lol.

I love the excitement of getting ready for a date night with my husband, making sure that I have freshly painted nails, spending that extra bit of time on applying makeup, figuring out what dress to wear then realising I then need to choose tights and shoes to match or I'm back to stage one.

The best part of the night for me though is coming home from the date discussing how nice everything was and then heading in the front door straight to bed feeling like we're a new couple still full of that spark that you get early on in a relationship. Its always nice to be romanced

When i used to date (a few dates from online dating) prior to meeting my now husband, i recall putting music on loud and getting ready - the music really gets you in a good mood. Wouldnt necessarily buy anything new or spend hours or days planning it though .. never had time as i was a single parent working full time. Oooo how i miss those days sometimes!! Was so exciting!!
