We're currently wondering whether to give a full-on silicon lube a try. Up until now Liquid Silk has been our goto lube but recently its started stinging my other half.

We need to avoid anything contraining Glycerin for other reasons so I guess the question is (or are) has anyone gone from LS to a fully silicone lube and liked it? and secondly, how bad is that staining?

We still use Liquid Silk as well as Pjur silicone lubes. For straight PiV sex we use the Pjur 'Woman' lube because it is not cold to apply (my wife doesn't like the initial cold shock of applying water-based lubes to her sensitive bits!) and even though you use only a few drops of the silicone lube it lasts for ages and gives a smooth but not too slick feel.

Liquid Silk is really good at making dildos really slick so they slip in really easily even when they are a very firm fit and in this regard it is better than silicone. To overcome the fact that it dries out we tend to use it in conjunction with some small amount of silicone lube to save us re-lubing part way through the fun. I guess this is a bit like making up Liquid Silk with about 10% silicone rather than 2%.

As for the staining we really have not noticed this at all. Perhaps this is because we use light coloured bedding.

Does not answer your question, but just if you want sometimes to stick to waterbased lubes. I need to avoid Glycerine, so I started to look for even water-based lubes without it. There are some available on Lovehoney and the Sliquid is great and the price is not that bad. I only use smallish amount at time when my body needs some time to awaken. So if you want to still try waterbased lubes, you may try to have a look at some Glycerin-Paraben free lubes. But they dont stay slick as long as silicone based lubes, for sure.

we use sliquid flavoured lubes as to be honest, there isn't a great deal of choice in this area. It seems to go tacky a lot quicker than other (glycerin) water based lubes we've used thats why at first LS seemed like such a revolution.

I've never tried LS (I know!), but I've been using the ID Millennium silicone lube for a while with any of my non-silicone toys (and a whole lot more!).  Compared to water-based in general, it is really a massive difference: much thinner, but more effective, so you don't feel as gloopy.  Where it was most obvious was with anal, because my fella each time was amazed at how he could just slide right in with zero friction.

It is a bit messy, not least because it's fairly water-resistant, so you need an actual wash to clean up, as just a splash of water will have no effect.

Staining, I didn't find it at all.  I got a great big pool of it on my sheets, and it came out in one 40° wash, although they were pure cotton sheets, and I'd imagine some kind of poly blend fabric wouldn't be as keen to let go.  From what I've heard, though, any cleaning product that handles oily/greasy stains should break it down, if it's being stubborn.  Before I washed it out, it looked the same as a water-mark, just a slightly darker patch, so if you have very dark or very light sheets, it shouldn't really show, and it's only middle-ish colours that'd make it obvious.

I do think it's worth a shot.  Even get a smaller bottle like: ID Millennium Silicone Lube 29ml or get a multi-pack that has a silicone sample like: Pjur Travel Personal Lubricant Pack (6 x 4ml Pack) or: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=17671 (although some in that have glycerin)  or: http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=22100

That kind of testimonial should be printed on the bottle! Ordered some to give it a go, thanks for your help. x.
