I would strongly, and I mean strongly recommend against antibacterial cleansers:

I agree with imeldaimelda, vodka is a perfectly good cleanser and disinfectant, if a teensy bit on the pricey side.  :p

Ordinary soap and water, contrary to popular belief, is actually a very good disinfectant and kills germs if (as with any cleanser) it's used properly.  I recommend it as the best cleanser I know of.

I think I want to invest in something more specific, to see if it reduces my endless bladder infections. Cleanliness is next to godliness, right?!

Hi sexc*m - baby wipes are designed to cleanse skin which is great and you can certainly use them to clean up after using a toy. But. They do not contain any anti-bacterial cleaning agents that are contained within specifically designed sex toy cleaner. We sell Sex Toy Cleaner Wipes if you find this method of cleaning easier than the sex toy cleaner Spray

You could always use the two in combination to clean out any nooks and crannies!

I use for the anal toys - antimicrobial spray first and then boiling water and then soap/ hot water. Also got to be careful for infections even it's just been in your own body. For the masturbation devices just soap and water really.

If you go to Ann Summers it costs £5 for 10 one-use wipes. For less than that we bought sqwerty toward the end of last year & we've used it countless times & we're only halfway down the bottle.

I spray it all over the toy - work it into any awkward areas then leave it for about 30 seconds to do its magic, then I rinse it off and dry with a freshly laundered tea-towel.

There should be instructions on the bottle.

Help! I am new to all of this.

I did buy the sex toy cleaner but a) it says that you have to use it both BEFORE and AFTER using the toy. So I can't just clean it after use and then assume that it's ready for use for the next time?

b) I took a tiny lick of the vibe and it tasted funny - I assume that's the leftover taste of the cleaner from last time I used it - and then I read the bottle and it says SEEK MEDICAL HELP IF SWALLOWED.

I'm probably panicking.... but should I be worried?

hey dont be worried youll be fine  thats really a just in case a lick off a toy wont matter but if you sprayed loads of it in your mouth then i would be :). you also dont leave the cleaner on you wash it off after about a minuet or so.

i can only ever reccomend using toy cleaner, cos there can be nasty germs on there that cause the toy to rot so always clean them after, if you leave them laying around or anywhere they can get dirty or dusty then yeah give them a quick clean before using them but if you keep the stored somewhere in bags or somthing then they should be fine :).

hope that helps and dont worry too much.

Thanks! I appreciate your advice, that helps a lot.
