Sorry to start another new thread on butt plugs. I had a search through the old threads and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for to bump an older thread.

I bought the Lovehoney Basics Slimline Butt Plug over a year ago to try to enhance vaginal sex and fulfill my continuing mission to have a PIV orgasm -"The Quest". I rather fancied the look of the glass and jewelled plugs but thought I would be best to try an inexpensive option first before splashing out.

Unfortunately the first time I used it was a bit of a disaster and didn't go very well. I was so disappointed and frustrated with it that after it was cleaned it went straight back into the toybox to lie at the bottom till I took it out again today. I didn't feel that I could contact customer care as there was nothing faulty with the product and just put it down to user error.

My main problem last time was it popped out just as I was finishing myself off after sex with a clitoral orgasm killing the mood and spoiling my climax. Grrrrrrrrrr. I had been looking forward to feeling my muscles clenching around it as others have described it as "feeling amazing sensations at orgasm".

So I thought we would give it another go today. It felt more comfortable during sex this time and I enjoyed the feel of it when my OH was thrusting against my bottom during doggy especially but yet again although it stayed in place well throughout it came flying out while I was orgasming clitorally and my OH was no longer inside. It didn't annoy me so much this time as I was past the point of no return and still orgasmed but I wish it had stayed in to see how it felt.

Now I'm wondering, do you need to hold it in by pressing on it to stop it coming out?

Do you think it is too small, the wrong material - would glass/ silicone/ steel be better or am I using too much lube?

Any advice much appreciated. Thanks :)

This particular one doesn't have much of a "neck". One with a fair lengthed slim section between the bulbous bit that goes in and the Base that stops it getting lost would stay in much better.

The plug is too small, you might need something a bit larger with a more pronounced neck for it to stay in :)

Thanks for the advice. I did wonder about this one. It looks really pretty and the moving ball inside sounds very intriguing:)

I really like the look of this one. The blue crystal is stunning. I'll maybe wait to see what the reviews say and then decide between this and the Marc Dorcel geisha ball one. Thanks:)

Yeah I have the same issue. When I'm climaxing and my vagina contracts I involuntarily push the plug out! Quite annoying. As said before, its to do with the size and the neck. I'm in between working out what shape plugs work for me. Bolbous stumpy plugs don't really work. Longer, less girth and a very narrow neck seem to do the trick. You're not alone

The vibrating one feels amazing during sex...for your oh too as he will be able to feel the vibrations through you. He may find it a tight fit to enter you as these plugs do take up a bit of space but as long as he's careful it'll be worth it xx

Thanks for the advice. It's reassuring to know that I'm not the only one that this happens to:)

Thanks for the advice and it's reassuring to hear that you've had this problem too but found a solution. I hadn't considered a vibrating plug but I'll check out all these ones you've recommended and then decide which one to try next:)

The vibrating plug I've listed is a large one but if you think it's going to be a bit too big Lovehoney do a small and medium exactly the same. To be honest though I have the medium and I push that one out when orgasming which is why I bought the large one xx

Thanks again. I think the medium might be best for me to try before moving up if I need to:)

Well I ended up "going large" and getting the Marc Dorcel geisha plug as I thought there wasn't much difference in circumference between the medium and the large. I was pleased to see it didn't look too big when it arrived. Today was the first chance that I had to use it and apart from very slight resistance at first it went in slowly and carefully with lots of Lovehoney anal lube and it felt great during intercourse. There was much more friction and I felt much tighter to my OH and it even stayed in at orgasm. Yay! But, Oh boy! It was so sore when I slowly and carefully took it out while sitting on the toilet at the end. It actually took my breath away with shock because it was so stingy! I was really scared to look at the toilet paper when I wiped in case I had damaged myself and was worried that there was any blood but thankfully there wasn't. Huge relief! Not sure if I did anything wrong. I used lots of anal lube to put it in and I tried to relax and bear down a little when removing it and to guide it slowly out. It kind of came out with a pop at the last bit. Any tips for making removal easier next time? Thanks.

It sounds as though you did everything right. If its a little bigger than you're used to thats probably why it felt the way it did. Have a play with it on your own a few times and really concentrate on teaching your body to relax both during insertion and removal. Get yourself worked up and try putting it in and taking it out again straight away a few times. Which lube did you use ? The skin internally there can be very sensitive. It may be worth changing the lube if it still stings a bit xx

Thanks for the quick reply Terri JJ. It was the Lovehoney anal lube that I used and I put on quite a lot as I know that you always need more than you think. I'll have another go with the plug later in the week and I'll try relaxing a bit more and doing the in and out straight away playing around to get myself used to it being inserted and then removed. It felt great apart from at the end taking it out. It reminded me a bit of childbirth when the babies head's crowning and the skin feels really stretched and like it's on fire then the babies head comes out with force and a bit of a pop. Yikes! Hopefully with your great advice I'll get on better next time. Thanks again x

It sounds as though you're still really tight. Have a go at stretching yourself with your fingers and lube first, then use the plug. Do you have any other toy that's a little bit smaller in girth than the plug ? You could play with that to get yourself a bit more stretched before using the plug xx
