I was going to start this by saying its a strange question. but my new outlook is that nothing is strange....

Anywayz, my partner and I have been playing with the idea of anal play. She likes a finger there during sex but is not a fan of anal sex regardless of the amount of lube. Would it be worth considering a butt plug?

We have looked through some on here and thought we would ask if it is really a good way to go before buying one.

I suppose the real question is "does it feel like a finger or like a c*ck, or something else entirely?"

My wife and I have been into anal fun for some years now, lots of toys for vaginal or anal. Most are interchangeable anyway. When I say into I mean both of us, although we started primarily with her but now it is me as much. I don't personally think that toys feel like a finger and speaking on behalf of my wife a cock. You can tell the difference. This doesn't mean that toys are not fun because they are. A butt plug is a good way to start as are your fingers. Of the two speaking personally I love my wife's fingers or fist more than a toy and I think she is the same. What you are doing is just starting out at the beginning of a whole new and amazing sexual experience. Don't expect it to be great to start with since there are those society taboos to overcome. You also have to get used to it and really get comfortable with each other it can take time but the end results are amazing. The sex is fantastic. If at first you don't succeed try try again.

    Hi

I think it depends on the sort of Butt-Plug you are planning on using as each have there "own" type of feeling.

When we started off we tried the http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=16053 but also got http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=2041

I found that the second one was more "finger" like but both were well tried and tested.

I would say a plug feels different to a cock and a finger but a plug does get somebody used to the sensation of something being there. It's an enjoyable toy and might encourage progression to fingers and a cock.

    @Hornymanc

If I were you, I would start small, there is a tiny purple one on the shops here that is only a few pounds and is nice and gentle, if she desires more upgrade eventually to a medium sized one.

But as always listen to her an if she says stop then you better stop and dont quickly push or pull anything, go slow, nice and slow, remember if it were to go in yours and how would much it would hurt or cause an accident if someone quickly pushed or pulled or wasnt slow enough etc etc ok?

I hope that helped, but yeah it goes without saying not to jump straight into shoving the toy in there either, so take your time and enjoy something beuaitful you two will share and no doubt bring you closer, a word of advise though have baby wipes available just in case

Good luck and have fun ;)

A plug is probably a good way to go. You can always try it anyway.
I personally love plugs and having something in me anally during sex, but I don't like anal sex, for reasons I cannot fathom.
I'd definitely say try it out, the LH own plugs are pretty nice and pretty reasonable.

If you are going to go for a brand might I suggest Doc Johnson brands, the texture I have been told is soothing and very nice to the touch almost life like but without the downside

I would definitely consider a butt plif if it's something she wants to do. I liked having a finger in there now and then too, and ended up getting this - http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=16053

It feels a little larger than a finger but it's the same sensation. Make sure that you also use a good quality lubricant designed for anal play. I always use this - http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=13084

I like the feeling of being full back there while having sex. I moved onto using these two which are my favourite plugs
    - http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=30818
    - http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=26278

I prefer this shape for a number of reasons. Firstly, it's incredibly comfortable to wear!! The slim neck helps to keep the plug in, because I tend to bare down when I'm having an orgasam and this tends to push out plugs without a neck. Also the bulb of the plug is quite big, with other plugs that are big that aren't this shape, the base tends to be quite big too and I don't want my sphincter muscles stretching. Some people do like them stretching and like having a 'gape' but this way it stays tight for anal sex.

The reason I like having a larger bulb is because when I'm having sex with my husband, he can feel it inside me and it's added stimulation for him. It also pushes him upwards inside me so I get hard g-spot stimulation. There's lots of benefits for women so I would definitely discuss things and see if you both want to give it a try.

It might be easier at first for her to insert the plug herself so she can be relaxed and stop quickly if it hurts easing it in. She'll get more comfortable as she gets used to wearing plugs more often :)

I started off with the prober http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=2041 and some anal beads http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=2219 then eventually moved on to silicone and glass butt plugs. Taken me just over 2 years, it's been a slow and steady progress, but I'm enjoying it more. As for anal, I'm still unsure, but may get there one day.
