    Hiya,

This is a bit cringey but recently I posted a review about this dildo:

    http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=24629

And in the review I mentioned that it was pretty thick and how I had trouble getting it in. It literally took me an hour (And alot of lube) and all I got in was the head before I gave up. I know everyone is different but I had never thought about not being able to fit a sex toy in before but then I had never tried with anything big. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for loosening/opening up as I was really looking forward to using this toy and I don't want to be having to worry about future purchases in case I end up wasting my money or cause myself unnecessary pain.

    Thanks alot!

    Lupina

I unfortunately have no tips for you on how to loosen/open up however please dont forget Lovehoneys wonderful returns policy where you have 365 days to return your purchase even if it has been used so you simply can't waste money on your stuff you have bought.

You are right when you say everyone's body is different. You sound as though you are putting a lot of pressure on yourself to make this toy 'fit', when you may be better off with a slightly slimmer dildo. Perhaps try a dildo, which is not 'realistic' with a more smooth tapered head like these:

    http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=22767

    http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=13884

Or maybe even a slim glass dildo, like this one:

    Hope this helps :) xx

From my OH's experience I would agree with Scorpius12. If your objective is to take bigger or oversized toys then I would say build up to it gradually so that it is more enjoyable and you don't do yourself any harm in the sudden step up in girth/length. If it is your goal then over time you will be able to take anything but enjoy the journey rather than rushing. For us we have found our balance and big isn't really the goal, more the spots it can hit.

Also don't be too concerned with wasting your money; scroll down on anything your are buying and LoveHoney always include specifications like size, diameter, lengh etc etc. Just look at the spec for you last toy and make your next purchase a little smaller, then scale up to the big boy overtime (unless u find your comfortable limit before then).

Have fun playing either way tho

I agree with the other posters but maybe play with another toy first til you've fully relaxed possibly even climaxed and then give it a go as you'll be a lot less tense. Think of it like sex, you wouldn't let someone else just rush straight in with their cock so enjoy building it up to using that toy.

    Thanks for all your help!

I still like the toy and will keep it for my girlfriend to have a go too (Thanks for the returns policy info though it's always good to know!) but I'm just a little bored with my small stuff so I guess it'll be trial and error trying to find a medium!

Can anyone suggest something that is in the middle for me to try?

EDIT: Also I tried the orgasm first thing after the first half an hour but it just wore me out and that's probably part of the reason I gave up!

Something that might help is a speculum such as www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=1764 they have the side effect of making larger toys easier to use if you warm up with one first

I bought that exact dildo to try and build up to taking bigger things comfortably - I use it for anal training though, not vaginally, I figure if I can use that my partner should be no problem! I was actually amazed by how easily I managed to take it, but I'd say for me it is more for training than pleasure, when I just want to enjoy myself I usually go for smaller toy like a rabbit. Whether you persevere or not depends on what your aim is, if you really want to be able to take bigger toys because you think you'll enjoy them more, fair enough, but remember that there aren't any prizes for straining yourself, and the idea is to have fun!

Have you heard the term vaginismus? It's basically the vagina being tighter than it should be, the causes can be physical or psychological or a combination of both. Treatments with muscle relaxants and/or antidepressants can help along with specially designed kits of differently sized cones which gradually stretch out your vagina without overly stressing the tissue.

Thank you all so much for your help, I've actually been thinking about your replies alot today and I think I was putting too much pressure on myself (I feel like I've had a spiritual epiphany!) and will probably stick to smaller toys now (But I definitely want to move up bit by bit at least a little!). Maybe one day I'll be able to play with this but for the moment I'm not gonna worry!

I really appreciate all your help, I was expecting to be treated like a child but you all had such kind replies and it really made me think about what I want!

Once again (Last time, I promise) - Thank you!

P.S. Still if anyone has any suggestions for small to medium dildos please post them, it's my birthday tomorrow and I'm trying to decide what to treat myself to!

SlinkyRat - I only just saw this after my last reply. I have heard of that as a friend suffers from it and did consider it but I don't think I'm going to worry as can take small things in but if I can't get something medium to go in all the way then I will definitely be looking into either some self-help techniques or my GP. Thank you for making me think twice as I had put it into the back of my mind but I will be wary!

Thank you for your concern as well!

Hello! Apologies if anyone else has posted these I haven't had chance to look at all the links.

I've found these work well, I struggle with size if I haven't played in a while.

    http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=17187

and I find the glass is a lush material!

Also, I don't know how you feel about vibrators rather than dildos, but you don't always have to turn them on! A lot of mine live with the batteries out anyway ;p

In which case I'd suggest http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=28567 or there are a few with slimline in the name, but always look at the specs at the bottom of the description

    NMK :)

Thank you NMK! They all look great!

(Also I love vibrators - This dildo was the first thing I put inside that wasn't buzzing!)

i wouldnt force yourself to be able to take it, if anything your probs getting yourself more annoyed and only making it worse.
maybe try after having a nice long bath, relax yourself a bit and take things slow x

I bought my wife a realistic didlo for her to try but when it arrived it was a bit of a surprise. It was massive but she seemed so turned on by this huge dildo. The first couple of weeks she tried to use it she could not get the head of the dildo in her. She was so disappointed. I told her to take her time there is no rush I kept telling her. Now 3 months later the very, very large realistic dildo just slides in no problem she loves it

    Take your time

    Hope this helps

    Tony
