Thanks sweetlove666 and Morbidia - you know how it is when you have been looking forward to a night out with your loves and when it's piss, you feel like it's your fault? Even though we managed to salvage it with some nice food afterwards, I still feel like it's my bad

Yeah, I'm sorry about your night out too JayGee. There's nothing much more frustrating than (quite rightly) expecting an interesting evening, looking forward to it, then that happening. The cowboy sounds pretty funny, but I would definitely expected more from that.

I'd love to go to a burlesque night but unfortunately don't have anyone I know who's interested in going with :( And it definitely sounds (or should sound) like a fun social time.

Sounds like an episode of Phoenix Nights JG!  At least you know not to go next time eh!

I went to a Holy Communion party at a local social club last weekend and what a shithole! The DJ was crap, the toilets were filthy, we were scared to eat any food due to the state of the place, the bar was shite as they had nothing you asked for and it was a them and us situation where nobody mingles and stay in little groups on tables. Nobody would get up on the karaoke so I got up and sang Mack the knife and that was the bloody highlight of the day!

Well done SG for making me laugh and think of Phoenix Nights Yes, it was also like an evening with Legs Akimbo or Papa Lazarou - in fact that would have been preferable.

 Aw sorry that's disappointing.

I absolutely adore burlesque and used to manage a troupe.  I love getting dressed up for nights out like that.  Try and see if any Ministry of Burlesque events are near you because they do quality nights.

Lots of clubs around the country host one-off or touring burlesque nights, so check your local listings. I had the treat of seeing the fab Fifi Fatale on NYE. If you'd like to take a look on my blog( http://kat-black-writes.blogspot.com ), you'll not only see a video of her in sultry action, but also a link to her myspace page that lists loads of venues, artistes, associations, etc. Hope that helps and that you're able to find something near you -- done properly, burlesque is Class A naughty entertainment and a great night out!

Kat

Sorry! The above reply was for you, 'Puppies'. Now I know to use the 'Quote this post' button instead of  'Post a reply' . Damnable technology.
