I'm here at least!  Sounds like you need to get properly fitted in person.  Sorry honey.  Different styles and brands can differ in size and that could be the problem.

hey imelda :D

i dont mind going back to get fitted again in another shop BUT in both marks and sparks and debnhams the biggest back size they do is 42 and they both have said my back size is bigger then this and so this is a problem i have they do not stock larger back size's and have no bra's for me to try on so i dont know where i can go to get fitted for a bra in my size.

Do you have a bravissimo near you?  Do me a favour and measure around your rib cage tight and tell me the measurement (if u want!)  It'd annoying if they don't have a decent stock :(

Where in the UK are you? Bravissimo are great diamonds and they do have quite a few shops. They do have a website but surely it would be worth a trip to treat your boobies?! You sound really uncomfy at the mo!x

You mean Rigby and Peller? They do know their stuff but they are quite scary and v. expensive!

Well, I know there are Bravissimos in Cov Garden, Oxford Circus and Ealing so if you're going in to town for something else then drop in, you never know, you might find something in the sale!

Just one thing though, be careful of going the whole day without a bra esp if you have big boobs. You may find that you end up with stretch marks and even worse pain if they aren't supported. Don't suffer while your bras don't fit but once you find a good one make sure you wear it!x

Yeah looks like you're going to have to order online.  I say bravissimo because big back size often means bigger boobs which they cater for.  What size did they tell you to get?  I just measured myself to sorta compare and I measure 33 inches around my chest and got measured as a 34D at a place that I really trust and those bras seem to fit me.  I don't see why they say you need larger than 42.  I'm no expert but I would try that size.  There's instructions which sound good here http://www.bravissimo.com/perfectfit/getting-the-perfect-fit/default.aspx

I know they are more expensive but I think you're going to have to pay that much.  Buy less bras but they should be better quality and fit.  That's all the help I can do!

thanks littlebird and imelda :D

i couldnt quite get why they said i needed bigger then a 42, the women in marks and sparks said u have t add 4inchs to the size she messured me at but i always thought u had to round up to the next even number. the lady at debnhams said a 42 or 44. im gonna send all the bras back and order some online again and im gonna try a D cup and  DD cup. im wearing a 40 DD bra now but when i tryed on the 44DD bra it was all lose on the top but filled in the bottom half of the cup.

why cant stores just do larger sizes in bra's! i just dont understand it, they do bigger sizeing clotheing now so why not take it throw to there underwear aswell! and if they do do a bit bigger bra they look like something ur granny would wear! im only 21 not 91, want something sexy but comfy and surrportive. rant over, sorry!

thanks ladys uve been much help

there all to baggey on the top bit of my cheast which im thinking means i need a smaller cup size? but i oreded the 2 cup sizes i was told by 2 differant fitters and neaither one of them fits.

..........Diamonds from what you said Im wondering if your wearing the wrong style bra for your shape. I dont know if uv put ur cup size above somewhere and i just havent read it but if you have a large cup size, above DD the the shape of your boobs could alter the style of bra u need. For example my boobs are very broad based so the base of my boobs meet in the middle, meaning that there is very little room between my boobs for the underwire to sit (if that makes sense) and the other side of my boobs goes right round to under my arms so if i try to wear a bra this type of style

http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_18447_425796_-1

it doesnt give me support regardless of size. Whereas if i wear this kinda style

http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_18448_643221_-1

i do get the support. On the other hand if you have small based boobs you have a lot more choice in bras. Sorry Iv had to use photos as i dont know the names for the styles. From what the ppl at debenhams and Bravissimo said to me broad based boobs need a larger bit in the middle than small based boobs.

Hope that helps and makes sense Diamond

xx

The first is called a plunge and yeah they are crap for support.  Kinda a going out bra in that high heels are often going out only as well!

Oh and I think we have to quote not copy to get it to show up right.

You read the threads on corsets yeah?  Some go for 2-4 inches less than waist size and some are by bra size so make sure you know the sizing! (or ask)

Hi, Diamonds,

I second what the other girls have told you - go to Bravissimo.  In the bad old days, they only had the Ealing shop, and you had to order a million bras and just send them back, but now there are more shops opening all the time (a result of all those boob jobs?) and it's well worth jumping on the bus or tube and getting to one of the London ones.  No, they're not as cheap as supermarket bras - but you only get one body, and cutting back somewhere else is well worth it.  I own two pairs of jeans, three skirts and two dresses - but my boobs are always well taken care of :-)

M and S do it the "old-fashioned" way - measure your rib cage and add four inches if it's an even number and five if it's not: forget the rib cage and go on fit alone.  You'll probably find you wear different sizes in different brands, and even within styles on the same brand - and possibly within different colours.  Wearing a bra too big around the back means all the weight is on your shoulders - and can make you look very dumpy and shapeless.  Wearing the right size takes pounds off you.

In the days BB (Before Bravissimo) I used to go to Marks, get measured, and come out with anything from a 38-42.  I lived abroad for a while, and went bra shopping one day - into a small store, asked for my size: only to be greeted by a dismissive huff by the owner, who sent me into the changing rooms and passed bras through for me to try, ordering me not to look at the size.  I went in a 38F and came out a 34G...  Today, I'm a 32HH, and at present, the only bras I can wear at all are the Panache harmony range: everything else looks rubbish or doesn't fit properly.  Seriously - go to Bravissimo, as it sounds as though you're a large cup size whatever - and let them fit you.  And once you know what size you are, even roughly, you can always shop around.  R and P are viciously expensive I know - but you can sometimes find stuff from there in the sale (I think they go up to a 44 back, but it might be 46).  Evans go up to F, as does BHS.  And brastop.com often have bras from previous seasons at great prices.  Their Curvy Kate range is adorable too - around £16 - but sadly doesn't fit me :-(  And then there's eBay - just do a search on your size: I've picked up new bras there for under a fiver.

Keep perservering - it *will* be worth it in the end: honest!

ok last night i had this thought instead of buying all new bras (which i have yet to find that fit me)  that i cant really afforde to do, wot if i bought bra extenders? u see the cup size is right when im wearing them its just the back size.

wot do u think, could this solve my problem?

Diamond  wash your mouth out, a matter of real life concern to one of the campers, well not that they all aren't but you know what l mean. Now  l don't claim to be an expert on this type of thing, but l wish you well on your quest, as a bloke  l am amazed something seemingly so staightforward can be so complex !! Just like peeps though really uh- no such person as the average person, the man on the Clapham Omnibus- whatever, but sounds as if you might have more look searching for Osama BinLaden, weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, or even the Holy Grail, but sure is one way to spend a weekend.

Good luck Diamonds, and plese do let us know how the quest goes wont you!!
