    Yep.

I first met my wife as a young (16) woman, leaning over a piano at a club. Started going out together a few years later. Still together after 34 years.

Fancied my LADY C immediately. Found out shortly after that it was love.

I'm a strong believer in lust at first sight. Love is always something that needs to grow.

I do believe in love at first sight as well. And at the age of 34 I also understand the phrase "it is better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all". The way I see it, it's like having measles. Better to get it over with! Now I won't get hurt again, or live my life wanting.

I had no fluttering heart or sleepless nights awake thinking of him or not being able to eat because I wasnt with him but when I met my oh I knew he was the right person to share my life with ,13 yrs later I miss him when he isnt here I lay awake at night unable to sleep because I want to wake him and tell him how much I love him so maybe not love at first sight but a knowing that can never be explained.

Never experienced it myself. My wife and I went to the same primary school, the same secondary school and the same college. We knew each other from the age of 5 but started dating at 17. Still together after over 15 years. Most certainly not love at first sight!

I think you can start to feel love for someone very early on, although perhaps not at first sight!  There needs to be at least a little bit of time getting to know each other before you can call it love, and then I think it still needs to stand the test of a little more time to know how genuine and lasting it is, whether you are truely compatible in the longterm.  So I guess that's a bit "yes and no" from me!

I do kind of believe in fate in these matters though.  I didn't used to, but one day when I told my OH that he was shocked and explained to me why he strongly believes that us ending up together was fate, and tbh he got me convinced!  I mean, with the merest tiny change in decision making several years ago we would never have met and become friends and then partners.  I suppose the same could probably be said for many relationships, but in our case it is almost frightening how many little things could have resulted in us never having the amazing relationship we have now.

I dunno about love at first sight, but me and my boyfriend fancied eachother from the moment we met, the love came later.

My theory is that people are attracted to many people at first sight, when it works out you remember it as love at first sight. I knew Mrs G by sight for about 3 yrs before we ever had a date, our second date was a weekend in the Lake District and at the end of it I felt as if I had known her for years.

I agree, I can fancy someone from the off but love comes through getting to know the ins and outs of their personality.

Then it wasnt love at first site, if shortly after it was love...?

Lust and love are different in my opinion.
