my partner and i really are trying to become more healthy. We are eating better and trying more exercise and also want to get into running. So i was wondering can anybody recommend a decent sports bra for running? also any other healthy tips such as great foods or meals or simple exersises would be much appreciated!

Depending on your size, the Berlei Shock Absorber is a good one...

Good luck with it, I've been eating better and trying to do more exercise too, also had no fags since NYE.

Here's some http://brastop.com/sports-bras-and-swimwear.aspx

Trouble is prices are always quite high cos of what they are, sort of thing that doesn't change much so no need to be reduced...

Yes I saw your news, congrats mate, dead pleased for you....

Don't envy you cycling, crazy bloke... Loads of people talk about that Man versus Food, never seen it.

As for healthy eating, I've upped my fruit and veg intake considerably, made my own soup etc, cut out all the crap, no crisps, well every now and then when feeling weak, lol.... no choc and actually eating fresh food as opposed to my usual ready meals, cos I'm a lazy cow...

i never really eat sugary foods- i cant stomach cake or chocolate but im a sucker for any potato or noodle or rice product and im also really lazy so this is where i get off my bum and start exersising. i looked at the sports bras, the Berlie one has mixed reviews, im not too fussed on price just as long as it stops the considerable pain! im a D cup i think

il carry on perusing

Shock Absorber seem to be the best one's I've got. I tend to pick them up cheap in sales from sports direct or debenhams (often on offer there at a really good price). Y backs are best as the straps don't fall down while running.

Nike sports bras are the second best ones I've tried, again, you can often find them in a sale somewhere. Also, if you need running shorts, nike do some of the best fitting ones, I tend to find other brands a little too baggy for running.

You are looking at about £10-15 for a good sports bra, but it really is worth it.

For cheaper ones, tesco or asda tend to do ok ones. I wouldn't recommend them for longer runs (depends how much you plan to run), but for light sports they do the job.

I've tried ones from places like primark and peacocks, but they don't seem to have any support, and when I think I've found a good one the elastic tends to go after one use and wash.

The shock absorber 'run' bra has been really good for me. It's a little tricky to maneuver yourself into without contortionism but is v comfy and supportive once on! I'm a 32D but know ladies who are both smaller and bigger who have got on well with it too.

They are quite expensive but they do last ages - I've done two marathons plus all the training for them in mine and it's still as good as when it was new even after all that use and associated trips through the wash. Although it's now a dirty pink after I washed it with a bright red scarf... Oops...

Good luck with your goals. Hope the running goes well :)

This one is one of the best style shock absorber bras I've worn for running: http://www.belle-lingerie.co.uk/1219/Shock-Absorber/Shock-Absorber-Sports-Bra-B4490-Magenta/ I've found it in other colours and sizes else where, but this was the easiest link I could find, to give you an idea.

I really should try and pick up some more sports bras soon... I end up changing them about three times a day, and run out rather quickly... it's a pain putting the washing machine on evefry two days just to wash sports clothing, esp when it's no good weather for drying clothing :/
