Short thing - I love lingerie, however the first piece I ever bought made me look huge. I guess I am curvy for my height, but this little number was ridiculously unflattering and although my boyfriend LOVED it, it was hard feeling sexy when I felt like a whale.

I have one piece of lingerie I actually like and it's a little purple halterneck one. I don't particuarlly feel sexy but I do feel more feminine.

Just wondered if anyone out there had advice on how to find lingerie that actually makes you feel good as well as looking good???

To put it in perspective, I'm 5"2, about 9 and a half stone and 34C.....with little body confidence.

Thanks to anyone who replies!!! x

I'm sure the ladies will spring forth with advice but you can't go wrong with a corset :)

Sounds like you're very similar proportions to me, Pippy, so I would definitely say you're not a whale! However, I've also struggled with the same kind of thoughts and lack of confidence in the past. What part of your body is it that seems to particularly bother you? Hard to know what sort of lingerie to suggest without knowing that :)

Some items that I've found I quite like:

I know it looks like something that would show all the flaws you think you have, but I actually found a bodystocking great for making me feel more sleek and slim, and in a way everything is covered but isn't at the same time.

This was quite flattering on my shape, creates a lovely hour-glass figure and doesn't really cling over my tummy.

If you're after something that fits a little more loose, then maybe something like a babydoll would be a good idea.

What sort of bodyshape are you Pippy? It would be a huge help knowing so I could offer you accurate advice. If you're pear or hourglass shaped maybe you could try a babydoll - something like this http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=29375

Also, I know you said you're not overly confident with your body but I would highly recommend a bodystocking. They're extremely flattering and so comfortable, and the lace ones hide any lumps or bumps you may not like. I have this one and love it http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=27327

SS is also right about the corset, they give you the nicest shape highlighting the waist and pushing up the bust. You can take a look at them here http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/lingerie/sexy-lingerie/basques-corsets-bustiers/#h1

try a lace bodystocking with an underbust corset. I'm plus size/BBW and this combination accentuates my curves and hides my tummy x
