The 'save the best pair' myth

Everynow and then when watching TV, people generally refer to women only saving their awesome underwear for when they know they're going to be seen, and just wear everyday basic ones most of the time. I seem to remember Bridget Jones' Diary going along these lines as well

But I have to say that my gf only owns, and so is constantly wearing, awesome underwear. Is this myth just a funny idea that people talk about for a laugh, or are there some women that do this?

i only like gorgeous underwear...refuse to wear anything less.

I think people do have nicer knicks and comfier knicks and maybe wear them differently depending on certain things.

I don't like to "save for best" because I like to wear things that are my favourites often however I have incredibly sensitive skin and often have to wear comfortable, gentle, cotton undies that are cute but aren't exactly sexy. If my skin is flaring up a little then I wear them and if I'm wearing jeans I have to pick the right undies. Same with tighter skirts versus flowy ones. I have some gorgeous knickers that have an obvious knicker line so I have to wear them under jeans or a flowy dress.

will usualy wear my prettyest knickers for when i see my partner and wear black ones when on period but i also wear pritty ones when i want to. depend what mood im in/ what is practical/ which ar clocest at hand

 My OH will usually wear her nice ones if they are there, but if she is on her period then it's the normal cotton ones. I'm pretty sure that's what most woman would do

 don't particuarly have  a pulling set

but i do have a few pairs of plain black lace that are for best, like with tights and dresses and going out. ( and a pair of "hospital/ drs appointment" pants)

most my others are patterend boyshorts with things like turtles and  teacups so they don't get seen or worn on dates.

No, not a myth..

I have nice knickers that I wear sometimes to impress, but I have every day knicks that are anything from lacey french knickers to boyshorts with pandas on! And my favourite novelty ones are my Disney ones 'I'm grumpy because you're dopey' :)

My Mrs mainly owns nice ones, and wears them all the time unless on her period.

Personally, it doesn't bother me in the slightest, I fancy her whatever she is wearing.

 also ive never met a man i've slept with ( arguably only 5) that's made me wait in my undies while he's looked at them. theyve been off really quickly

My wife used to wear "boring" white cotton underwear almost all of the time.  She explained to me that, for everyday wear, she valued comfort much more highly than appearance, and so she always tended to go for the "safe" option when she was out shopping.  We therefore made a deal that I would take charge of buying some exciting new undies for her, but that I would take her wishes into account and follow a few ground rules (e.g. no thongs, as she hates them).  It was a tough job, but someone had to do it!

I'm happy to report that my wife was very pleased with my purchasing decisions, and surprised to discover that underwear can be both comfortable and sexy.  She now lets me buy all of her lingerie for her because, she says, I make good choices.  I've also been encouraging her to enjoy wearing her sexy items when she's at work, out shopping, or doing housework -- not just for "best".  I still catch her wearing the "boring" undies at times but that's becoming less frequent as holes start to appear in them.

I have two types of underwear.

Sexy & Cute

My cute ones  have things like cows, giraffes, penguins etc, but my cute pants are comfy and my nice looking pants. So, I feel nice wearing them too.

I don't choose when I wear sexy ones, I don't have very many sexy ones, but my sexy panties are also comfy.

So I can wear ANY panties I like! I am soooo efficient. XD

i have a variety of knickers ranging from the cute ones such as spots, stripes, animals etc and pretty lacy ones too. Embarassingly i have a collection of big cotton pants(think bridget jones) that are ultra comfy but they rarely get worn outside the house :o 

Usually i save the nicer ones for good but i do sometimes wear them during a normal day, depends how i feel and what i am wearing really. if im out to impress i make sure that im wearing something decent underneath :P

Don't worry. I actually like cute underwear just as much as the sexy ones anyway.

Got tired of going to the effort and expensive of buying nicer clothes when I was putting on weight (health problems) and then having to pack them all up and start over. So it's just cheap and comfy underwear, it's not like there's anyone around to see them. If I can ever manage to get to a first date with someone who's actually attracted to women, I'll buy something better in the right size.

depends on what you think is a "pulling pair", mrs g looks great in just simple white silky briefs but she does have others.

I won't wear ugly undies, unmatching undies or uncomfortable undies. They have to be nice to look at and comfy to wear.

Mrs G also wears underwear to complement what she is wearing so no VPL and when going out her bra for example is the same colour as her blouse/top.

 I always wear nice underwear, matching bra and panties, but then they are ALWAYS seen, that and if I just wear comfy ones (I own one pair of FCUK boy shorts) I don't feel sexy at all. I guess it's just a confidence boost (and I have a tendency to wear slightly see-through tops, it's nice to have a lacy bra for people to compliment than a boring one, eh?)

 Mine are always matching unless I'm going to the gym then its proper big black bridget jones ones and an equally unsexy sports bra. I do tend to save my posh silk stuff for going out just because its a pain to wash. I've also got sets I've never worn and am keeping for something special but I don't know what! ( I think I'm a secret hoarder) 

I only ever wear nice underwear - always matching too - no matter what I'm doing that day. But I do have a few pairs that aren't exactly sexy but I love cos they're funny/cute and comfy.... they get used as jammies more than actual knickers though.
