A supermarket treat

I'm not a fan of doing a big shop but the OH and I were in the supermarket at the weekend. We were at the checkout and i noticed the girl in front was tall and wearing a short skirt. Nice...no harm in looking.

She then started to empty the basket ......bending over each time. OOh La La...... The skirt kept riding up and showing the start of the cheeks of her very cute rear. She was wearing sheer black pantyhose.....what a turn on. My wife noticed and held my "HAND" in sympathy when we got to the car.

Needless to say you can guess what my wife wore on saturday night....for a while anyway!

For me, I just find it rather... well, stupid to be honest... It's like they're actually asking for a rape. I've only ever saw schoolgirls wearing very short skirts though, so that's probably why I have such negative views about it. I mean, seriously, I was on a bus and two or three girls came on wearing tiny skirts that barely ran past their bum. Not exactly what they should be wearing, should they? I think that halfway down to their knees is sufficient in length, but barely covering the bum is definately not the way to go with mere schoolgirls. Meh, whatever takes their fancy, I guess.

I am sure you don't personally think in this way, but I'd like to tell others who might be tempted to think so, that NO woman deserves to be raped, regardless of what she is wearing or not wearing, even if she goes out naked on the street!

Further, women in may countries around the world wear hardly anything substiantial to cover their bodies where the climate is warm and of course depending on their culture. Obviously not meaning arab countries, but go in the summer to the south of France, Italy, Spain, the Balkans, Brazil and so on, and all you see is super sexy women walking down the street in mini-skirts, shorts and vests at the best.

We in Britain are not used to seeing this type of body display and naturally find it immoral, but the people over there don't think that almost all their women 'actually ask for rape'!!!

Ouch. That is a comment that may upset a few members, including myself.

Consider a scenario comprising of one of those 'oh so manly' perma-tanned orange 'lads' with blonde tips who swagger around city centres with England tops tied around their waists in the summer; and a cougar on the prowl desperate to escape the monotony of her sexless marriage to a bald middle aged insurance broker who is trying to reclaim some element of his youth through his pursuit of leathers and various two-wheeled petrol driven appliances. He may look ridiculous (he does, really ridiculous) but that doesn't really justify raping him for getting his 'tits' out. Control of a person's sexual desires rests with the desirer not the desired. Yes, sensible precautions should be taken in some places (we all know some areas are not as safe as they should be [this includes other considerations too such as not having valuables on show]) but responsibility lies with the perpetrator and not the victim who can only simply play a percentages game to ensure their safety (dressing 'suggestively' at Tesco shouldn't really be a place for a lady to worry about rape).

Apologies of that sounds a bit harsh, it's not meant to be, I just thought an illustration highlighting the absurdity may prove illuminating (and I believe you may be unfamiliar with my rather direct way of saying things).

Now, back to the occasional lurking.

That comment upsets me.

My partner once said the same thing when an article about rape came on the news, and I went mental with him! Having been a rape victim myself I find it very offensive.

Nobody EVER asks for rape.

Can you imagine this scenario? "Hello, could you rape me please? I know you are thinking about it."

In fact asking for rape would be the exact opposite of the term rape!

Also, you have a really nice wife there, Shiny. Don't know if I'll respond the same way as I get jealous like crazy lol. I think it's a tad like watching porn- watch but don't touch kind of thing. Ah hell, I'd still get jealous. xD

I wouldn't want to see someone's bits on show with kids around though.. I think there does need to be more practical and common sense around these things.

As for the rape thing.. No excuses really. No means no. Just because something is more revealing doesn't make it the right to take. Sometimes I do think the clothing out there can be really provocative etc but again, no reasoning for rape.

I agree with Jo. Well, for a start, I find rape pathetic. I just seem to have negative views about people wearing risque items of clothing. Considering that I generally hid myself in clothes and not even shown my arms. Also, consideing what Jo said about us not being used to seeing other people wearing very little.

I do it sometimes myself, but usually because I mean it in a jokey way, and sometimes it comes out a lot different than it did in my head.

But actually having the perception that women, or indeed anyone, ask to be raped by wearing provocative clothing is never a wise thing to say. Though I do agree that young women shouldn't wear clothes that is all about tease and to some extent, striptease, I just think its innapropriate.

I can't imagine anyone actually believing that a woman would ask to be raped. I was strangled, beaten black and blue and forced upon.. how can anyone want that without consent?

On a serious note - AA - your ordeal sounds horrific.  You are pretty inspirational in being able to share that with us.  Huge admiration.

Back to the thread topic - I like the mental image that Shiny painted.  How about thongs poking out over trousers - Erotic or Ugly?

 i read that lots of people find thongs over jeans trampy but i think they look great!  

I'm very sorry to hear that, Avrielle.  If I had the choice to sacrifice myself so that all pain, suffering and violence are erased from this world, I would do it. No one deserves to suffer. If only...

I hope you're better now as something so horrifying can have such long, drastic repercussions on people's mental health. No one needs that. They really don't.

Thongs over trousers/jeans - no, personally I HATE it!

In relation to the OP - whilst that doesn't turn me on (only because it was a woman, and, well, that's not how I roll), I can totally understand why it did, and the mental images behind it and it does sound a little hot!!

The lass in question was well spoken smartly dressed TALL student in early-min 20's (Halls of Res are close by) She ws so tall and legs so long that she easily reched down and picked stuff from font of trolley ...only exposing the start of the cheek -I dont think she was aware....being right behind her (no pun) it was hard not to see....................That was it, but it was sexy too. My wife didnt miss it either and gave me a cheeky squeeze.

Why can't a nice looking girl wear clothes that flatter...............all else is in the mind.

You're making me wish I still visited supermarkets, Shiny (we get everything delivered these days). Sounds like a fun experience, it's nice that your wife took it well.

I just want to defend a few of my fellow short skirt wearers, here. I wear a lot of short skirts. If I could make them sit a few inches longer I would, but I'm not going to pass up a cute, otherwise flattering skirt just because it wasn't made for someone with a 5'10" frame. Most people don't seem to understand that some girls (aka the tall ones) aren't wearing skirts that short intentionally. Finding a skirt that's a nice length is a nightmare when you're 6" above the average, but it's not as hard as finding trousers! You often just have the choice of doudy or tarty in length.
Although, personally, being a tall girl who always wears skirts of one description or another, I always bend at the knee if I'm not at home, haha, need to protect my modesty (although, the damn wind doesn't always understand that fact, gah ).
