As much as I love Lovehoney, La Senza is my number one choice for lingerie for sexiness, fit and flattery. Their generous sizes is great for my particular figure and pretty comfy too.

But my partner has just told me that they are going in to administration!

Booo! Hisss!

Devastated. :-(

By the way, is Lovehoney planning to get more in to their plus size lingerie range in the coming year?

Yeah, it wont be instant, but my man heard on the news today that they are going in to administration. Administrators were called in today (23rd Dec).

I'm a sad bunny that they will be gone prob this coming year. :-(

:( booo. Hope it won't be soon :(

I do like La Senza bras and babydolls - nothing against LH / products - but when it comes to bras, trying them on in a shop is a plus.

They're only in administration so will continue to run whilst they try to find a buyer for them as a going concern, if that isn't possible then they will most probably shut them down and sell off the assets in an effort to secure funds to pay the creditors at least something towards their debt. Business rumours suggest both Theo Paphitis (who used to own them) and Michelle Mone (Ultimo) are interested in possibly buying them.

Shame, it is nice to see things before you buy, even if you do end up going online anyway

I will have to get another job if a buyer can not be found for La Senza lingerie we do have some nice lingerie & nightwear in, but the middle price market is not were people want to shop now days its luxury to make them feel good or cheap end of the market to just buy lingerie for a purpose. It will be a shame if La Senza lingerie goes I will miss them.

Victoria's Secret are due to open a flagship store in London in 2012, and they run the US La Senzas. It's possible if not likely that VS will buy the best La Senza stores (but not the central overheads), and ditch the rest. So the retail and management of the well-located high street and mall units might survive and a very select few of the corporate staff, as well as a lot of logistics. But those in rubbish locations and duplicated functions like HR might struggle.

Oh dear, that's rather sad. I haven't got anything from them for quite a while, but they're one of the few brands that do (or at least used to do) true 30 bands (a lot of brands' 30s are way bigger than they should be), so they have a soft spot in my heart. One of the first bras I got that actually fit properly was from there (a Little Miss Naughty one, haha). Last time I went in they didn't have too many styles in my size, though
I hope someone buys them up, so long as that someone keeps/increases the amount of 30 bands.

I am a little disappointed to hear this as it is the only place I can get 30 back bras in a D cup size that fit ok. But on the other hand I'm not too bothered as I personally thought their quality wasn't too good, I'd often get a bra and one of the straps would always break. Plus some of their stuff looks cheap and tacky, although they have suprised me in the past at times though.

If there is a buyer, I would guess that La Senza isn't going to be the same as it was.

I have bought some wonderful and very comfy bras from there in the past! I have one bra that I love so much I hardly dare to wear it! Lol! Only wear it for special occassions like when I want to feel really sexy of tease my man!

Their french knickers are the comfiest I've owned too!

Bought nightwear too which has been really comfy.

I think I like La Senza because I know my size with them. Lots of shops and brands seem to swap and change their sizes from item to item and it's really quite annoying, but if I were to order a single size in a range of different items from La Senza I can be pretty confident that they will all fit!

My local one is closing, I'm disappointed now. There's still one I can get to at least :)

Crikey!

Just had a look on the website and it says it is down for "technical maitenance".

Thought they might leave it some more time to flog off the remains of their stock. I hope it really is just maitenance on the website!

According to the paper, they have been bought out by some Arabs, but 60 shops were saved, but 80 closed down last night,so I assume website is being updated.

News I can find.

Today:

Alshaya, a Kuwait-based retail franchise operator, has taken control of the ongoing La Senza business in the UK. Under an agreement with administrator KPMG, Alshaya UK acquired the exclusive franchise rights for the La Senza brand in the UK as well as 60 stores—a move that saves some 1,100 jobs and the continuation of the La Senza brand on the high street. Alshaya says it plans to invest around £100 million in the UK retail sector in the next two years. Alshaya’s other UK connections include franchise operations for Mothercare, Debenhams, Boots, Next, River Island, Topshop, Miss Selfridge and The Body Shop.
