After a couple of searches I couldn't find anything that would match up to this.

So in celebration of my OH getting his full own clan tartan kilt made up for him (Got the phone call today and its made and ready to be picked up!) I want to say that kilts are just super-duper uber sexy!!

    Anyone agree?

I've been drooling and practically making puddles thinking about the OH in his new kilt, and never wearing anything underneath! There is a good ghillie shirt to go with it too! and stog horn sgian dubh and all those other little bits and pieces that would just make him look so damn sexy in my opinion!

    I simply can't wait!!

What are your views and opinions of men in kilts, and of course for the men, do you wear a kilt yourself? And would you like to see your girl in a tartan skirt or dress?

I'll also add my fantasy bridal dress here too, so give your opinions on this too! (Note the actual colour of the one I want is a dirtier more antiqued creamy white than the one shown there! I wish I could get a better pic..)

Oooh scary timing, I've literally just finished pulling all my kit out of the loft for tomorrow.  At work we are doing a Children In Need 'Dress Up' day, and I'm going to wear my kilt.

Therefore my opinion is that kilts are damn fine and the men in them are hot hot hot!!!

Bless you...I have to admit I do feel good when I wear it.

I've managed to alter a pudsey teddybear so I can wear it as a sporran.  Which looks funny, although may be open to a few beastiality jokes due to positioning but hey ho!

Very lovely dress Avriell_Aniko but ouch! A hefty price. But if it's your dream, you go for it.

I'm probably going to be in a minority of one here but I hate to see a man in a kilt! I'm sure your OH looks very good in your eyes and that's what's important. But for me - it's a real turn off.

Maybe it's the Lowland Scot in me, maybe it's a rebellion with being brought up in Scotland in the 60's and 70's and seeing way too may Hogmany shows. But for every Ewan McGregor and Vin Diesel you can trot out, I just think Andy Stewart, Kenneth McKellar and James Robertson Justice. And don't get me started on Braveheart or Rob Roy. I can just about watch Highlander without running screaming, but only because I was nearly in it!

And yes, I have seen photos of Gee in a kilt and he looks bloody awful.

Lol! Well, thats your opinion on it Jay. No one can make you like them! Its great to have a bit of diversity rather than having everyone agree to the same thing!

That dress does have a very hefty price tag, (And that price is before fitting! LOL!) but then again I can get decent discounts from that shop, since I know the guys who work in there pretty well, and the its the same place my OH ordered his kilt..

*Laughs at the image of smooth one and his pudsey bear*

I dunno. I really love tartan, but thats when it's on me! I'd love to see my boyfriend in a skirt just once, but kilts are a bit different! There's the appeal of him not wearing anything underneath I guess, but I couldnt take him seriously if he was in a kilt, and he's always going commando anyway :P

I do REALLY love that wedding dress though, I want it!

I've got kvetch in one of these sometimes:

That's a good example of a kilt alternative to the usual Scottish tartan arrangement, and he looks really hot in it, especially in his army boots and no shirt!  Mmmmmmm...  :)

Which tartan will he be wearing? My OH has a proper outfit and in my slightly biased opinion looks hot in the whole get up (wasn't cheap but he got it for the wedding and my dress was somewhat of a bargain) Men with skinny wee legs do not look good in kilts (sorry guys) but for those who do...*back from a daydream* I happen to be going celidhing this weekend to an event to which there is a guaranteed high kilt clad attendance every year. Using the occasion to dress up myself and hoping to be swung enthusiastically around the room in the arms of many handsome strangers for hours :D

Tartan in general however is not done well. I spent much time in Edinburgh and can't stand tacky tartan things *shivers*

For myself, I don't look good in tartan. Certainly not those readily available; in fact the few times I've attempted wearing it I looked awful; gawky, peely waly, ugh. The skirts which are short and can look ok are not ideally suited to much of Scotland design wise anyway.

That's almost gladatorial....HOT!  I'm now enjoying image of my OH as shirtless roman warrior!

As for more traditional kilts....YES PLEASE!!! I think they look seriously sexy (particularly on Ewan Mcgreggor)....I like the possibility that he'd be wearing nothing underneath and of course the easy acess!

Kilts are definitely sexy! My ex used to wear one a lot to formals in college, and while I laughed a bit at the time, he did look very smart!

I'm not a big kilt fan either really, I like a bloke in dark, thick jeans.....especially topless, the part were the waistband meets skin, mmmm  especially on my OH, as his skin is so lovely!

A couple of things about kilts...mystery and accesability.

Watch out tho, if anyone asks you to check out the family jewels....

My OH had a kilt outfit for many years, and it was rolled out to all the weddings, and  functions we have to go to, but as age got the better, (of OH not the kilt)  the outfit was handed down to son who now cuts the same dashing figure as his father did years ago.  OH now wears an evening suit, and I have found that the ladies all like to check out to see if he is wearing galluses..... (sorry, braces if your not a cheuchter )

Just to let you know I am feeling a bit better !

Wow, Avrielle_Aniko - that dress is rather spectacular - an excellent fantasy choice in my opinion (even if it wouldn't be the kind of style I'd go for?). Went to have a quick browse at some bridal wear for a housemate earlier this week (oh gods, the horrific monstrosities she's mentally planning to put us in...), and the lack of originality in some of these high street shops is less than inspiring.

As for tartan, it's not something I would necessarily go for. No negative reflection on Scottish culture at all, just doesn't hold any interest for me! At secondary school I enjoyed wearing a kilt a lot more than expected, some people looked great actually, so I do often think of school when kilts are mentioned. Not the sexiest fantasy though, in reality!

WIll be going to Edinburgh next week to pick the kilt up! I simply can't wait! Lol!

Hes now talking about getting all the jacobite daywear stuff.. tbh the jacobite stuff doesn't do much for me at all.. :(

Lubyanka - I do love those kind of man skirts too, on certain people! They can look fantastic!

For me, its not just about the whole "is he, isn't he wearing something underneath" thing, but the knowing nothing is underneath is kind of a turn on, like knowing your woman is not wearing any knickers!

If they weren't so damned expensive I'd get him in a 12 yard throw over shoulder kilt.. Those are ultimately the sexiest of all!
