What is the point of a dildo as opposed to a vibrator?

I have used a vibrator but never a dildo.

morning and welcome :)

I prefer dildos for insertion, vibrators for clitoral stimulation.

Dildos require more effort from the user but a cold glass dildo works for me everytime :)

Basically, vibrators vibrate. =)

I like both dildos and vibes. I use vibrators statically, and have dildos for when I either want a very light thrust or just to feel the penetration itself.

For some reason I really don't like using vibrators without the vibration.

sorry i should have read that thread properly. I love dilldos as i love deep penetration a vibe is excellent for stimulating your clit and G spot but a Dong is a penis replacement to thrust ride and take either solo or with a partner.

cavemen (or should that be cavewomen) even carved stone dildos.

I like both vibrators and dildos. I even use my silicone vibrator as a dildo, but frankly... when it comes to G spot stimulation without the vibrations on it just fails me. Its nice feeling when I want something inside me while stimulation clitoris, but not giving me much sensations.

I am getting ceramic dildo for my birthday, for several reasons. But mainly because its hard, so I am hoping it would stimulate my G spot better than the vibrator which is just too soft. Rigid dildo should be more easily pressed on the right spot! And it should be nice for temperature play too

i like the sound of a metal one for the same reason something cold and hard. not really impresed with the selection here!

I find that there are some vibrators that actually make great "dildos" as well. Like the Aquagasm range. I'm not a fan of internal vibrations so I tend to stick with dildos and a clitoral vibrator. It purely depends on the individual though! A rabbit vibe allows you to experiment with internal vibrations as well as clitoral. I personally think they're a tad over-rated though.

My new found love for sex toys has to be glass dildos. Pure bliss!

Let us know what you decide to purchase. Good luck and have fun experimenting!

I definitely prefer vibrators but I do want to buy a glass dildo as I love sensory play, I love to heat my vibes up in hot water first. I have had a few dildo's but I always grab my vibes first.

I thought that too until I met Noemie and Ella.

It's a different experience. I get a deeper, more relaxing orgasm from them than buzzy vibes and appreciate having that as an option.

The standard fake penis dildoes don't work for me though. Finding the right kind for my body was an eye-opener though.

Its specially made ceramics. And tested for strenght. But yep, looks luxurios!

I think there are some glass dildos round 5 inches, like this one

or this really pricey one

if you want some temperature play

I seem to be moving in the opposite direction.

Originally I bought a lot of hard insertables. Lelo vibes, aneros stimulators, glass dildos and hard silicone. Since buying Adam i've had a bit of an eye opener that soft toys might be the way to go for me.

Not that I don't still love the collection I have, I just think i've got enough firm toys. I bought a pure wand on sale a month or two ago and it's only been used twice!

Until recently I had never used sex toys at all, now widowed, I decided to experiment and bought a jessica rabbit. Have now had that for maybe a year and a half but thinking about something more, hence the question re dildo´s as opposed to vibs, must admit would never have thought of a ceramic or glass one.

Any advice from more experienced ladies appreciated.

Basically its all about what you prefer. Silicone dildos are more flexible and not as hard, with rubber I would watch for the content of the rubber, they sometimes contain phthalates. Glass and ceramics are hard, but I personally prefer harder stimulation on my G-spot so they are better suited for my body. Glass and ceramics can be used for temperature play, you can warm them under cold water or put them for few minutes into the freezer if thats what you prefer. For a beginner with them I would suggest some smooth, without texture, maybe just shaped for G-spot stimulation but there are also straight dildos.
