Ah, the world of sex toys - it's design heaven!

There are so many shapes, sizes, materials and functions to choose from - and just when you think you've seen it all, someone comes up with something completely different.

Here are my current design favourites:

We-Vibe - So innocent looking and yet so completely orgasmic for both him and her.  I confess that I wasn't persuaded when I first saw the We-Vibe, but one try later and I was converted.  I love the colour, shape, ease of use, unqiue vibrations, portability - in fact the whole thing!

SaSi by JeJoue - I'm happy for Mr Ruth to hog the TV remote these days - the SaSi is flashier, far more pleasurable to use and doesn't show endless repeats of Top Gear!  Check out the shape, the 'intelligent technology' , the colour change skins, the use of movement and vibrations and add the fact it feels like the best oral and you can see why it's a bestseller.

Tenga Flip Hole - I don't have the right equipment to use this beauty, but that doesn't stop me cooing with delight and feeling a strage compulsion to open it and stroke it.  A design classic (check the reviews!)

So, which sex toy designs do you find inspiring / invigorating / drop dead gorgeous?

i love the look and feel of glass toys, and how with some of them if you didnt know what they were they could be easily mistaken for some sort of kitchen equiptment

Oh this is a good thread!  I vote for the Cone because it's very innovative, is great quality and feels so damn good!  I also love Fun Factory's Sinnflut (well all their toys) because the quality is top notch and I like the abstract nature and the groooooves!

I think the Rocks Off toys are a fabulous example of multifunctional design.

Like imeldaimelda I love the looks of the Fun Factory stuff, they look fantastic.

I really want one of those SaSi vibes, they're gorgeous very Phillipe Starck style.

Ooh, one I forgot: Sabar Zen by industrial watch designer Michael Young.  Check out the launch instillation!

im just gone have to be the person who says the rabbit vibe, as it really did do change the lifes of some wome.

i think when the rabbit came out, peoples thoughts about sex and sex toys changed and its become more accpeitical. (SP?)

^ agree diamonds - definitely became more acceptable (was this the word you wanted?! hehe) with the rabbit, and on sex and the city obviously! It's got to a stage where nearly all of my girl friends are very open about the fact that they own one. It's not quite the same for guys sadly, I feel the flip hole and the flesh light are changing things though for us!!

I felt okay about chatting to my mate about him getting a flip hole, I persuaded him to get it and he has reported back that it was a success! Barriers coming down!

For me I think the SaSi is beautiful and looks very discreet, would be an ideal massager both for its sleek design and the fact that it makes for a very classy massager, and all its amazing functions - I so want to own one, when I can afford it one day!

Also I very much like the Vibe Therapy range because the designs are so elegant and beautiful, they take the basic rabbit shape and turn it into a amazing sculpted shape that looks like a work of art - and they are quiet, feel good and have multi functions, too, I know because I own one, and I think they are brilliant for people like me who like a 'sleek' design of rabbit.

Mmmmm has to be glass for me as well (I have yet to try ceramic).  Glass feels so good. I'm hoping to add to my collection once the ones I have my eye on are back in stock.

I am thoroughly impressed with the Tenga Flip Hole. It looks beautiful and seems appealing to men due to the gadget design. I also think OhMiBod is onto something powerful. Everyone loves music... why not get off to it?

Sometimes toys makers seem so worried with keeping things looking REAL. I look forward to the new age of toys that are more about function, as opposed to realism.

On a side note, I would actually love to get involved with the Research & Development on many of these sex toys. Ironically I have a research background. The goal should be to make sex toys so common that you could pick up some basic ones at your local pharmacy, and even have a movement into making toy stores more pleasant looking, so that you could have one anywhere and it's a welcomed addition to the neighborhood!

Also, I love how much work has been done with the rabbit. They really need to make a male oriented device that would be the rabbit's cousin!
