Hello,

I quickly searched the Inside Lovehoney threads but I can't find any specific answer to my question.

I am returning an item to lovehoney, but I would like to know if it is a specific requirement that I get a free certificate of posting from the Post Office?

As it is freepost, would it just be possible to post the packet in a postbox with just the address and no stamp?

Thanks.

You could, but if it gets lost you have no proof you posted it and so doubt you'd get a refund/replacement.

Since its free to get it, it just makes more sense to have that security

Hello,

you either use the return label you got with the item, or you write it down yourself. Then go to Post Office and tell them you have an item you want to send using free certificate of posting. Dont just put it in post box! Its not safe, although possible, I think, if you can actually put it into post box...They will look at the address, weight it and issue you notice they accepted the parcel! In case something goes wrong.Without it, you have no proof you sent it and if it goes missing, you are done.

This!

You might as well get one - you've got to go to the post office anyway, you might aswell wait a moment for the proof of postage as some assurance that if it goes missing you can prove you returned it and Lh might give you your refund anyway as a good will gesture (I don't know there policy on missing items though).

I don't see why you wouldn't get one really - it's just good practise!

If I was returning something small enough to fit in a letter box, I might skip the post office and take the risk. It's always so crowded and has a long queue.

But then it would also depend on how expensive the item is.

They do stipulate somewhere that you should get proof of posting but recorded is not needed. I would do it just in case. It doesn't cost anything
