As Erotic Book Club followers will know, we love nothing more than receiving your reviews for the Book of the Month (and any erotic book for that matter.)
As well as helping other book lovers to pick the perfect title, your reviews also let us to know which authors you like, which type of erotic books to stock and also which books we should feature as the Erotic Book Club Book Of The Month.
Your erotic book review could even help you to win £100 of sex toys - not bad, eh.
Here are some simple tips on how to write a winning review of an erotic book, to help you to success:
Draw inspiration from others - have a look through the book reviews on the site, especially if there are reviews for titles you've already read. Think about what information you found useful in each review and what you think could have been left out or covered in more detail. This will give you a great insight as to what to include in your own reviews.
Keep it simple - each Erotic Book Club Book Of The Month forum post includes questions for you to consider whilst reading the book. Answer these and you'll be well on your way to a brilliant and informative review.
Don't re-tell the story - there's a strong temptation just to recount exactly what happens in the book and then say whether you liked it or not. Aside from spoling the surprise for other readers, this just makes for a dull (and somewhat lazy) review. A better idea is to talk about: characters - which ones you liked/didn't like / general plot - is it funny or serious, hot or not, well written or barely readable / length - a quick read or one for serious readers, etc etc. Good book reviews are the ones that express how the reader felt about the book, so let your thoughts and opinions shine through.
Now, over to you guys. What are your top tips for writing erotic book reviews? What reviews of erotic books can you find on the site that you like and why do you like them?
