I'm not a fan of 50 shades, to be honest, I've read much better erotica from bloggers and xcite books. So when I came across this blogger's tortured review of the book, I couldn't stop giggling.
Her blog entries start from june;

I am still working on my review. Published few more in the meantime, but this one is really hard to write. I dont like a lot of things and its started to be one of my more lenghty reviews. Ok, I promise I will finish writing it by Friday and get it online.

I enjoyed it. On the second book now and apparently it's meant to be better. We'll see.

I've read all three & whilst they are terribly written & embarrassingly cringe-worthy in places, I did find myself utterly compelled & unable to put them down. I found the story got a bit silly but I'm glad I've read them. Mostly so I can keep up with all the fuss that's going on about them! The 'kinky' elements let me down a bit as I was told prior to reading this that it was 'shocking' & would make me blush but it really didn't. Maybe it's got alot to do with your own sex life & attitudes towards the behaviour described as to how much it shocks you. I've done most of the stuff mentioned in the book anyway so didn't really make me bat an eyelid. I'm looking forward to seeing how they transfer it to the big screen though. Should be interesting viewing.

1/3 way through The Initiation of Ms Holly and the story seems a lot like 50 shades but with more sex. I could have finished it last night haha but I didn't start reading until 1am so needed to sleep :(

50 shades of chav??
'council estate style' (not my own story i hasten to add but had me in fits)
Even though he only had one tattoo I yearned for him to fill those lonely hours between Jeremy Kyle and loose women, as he approached with those pasty white arms hanging out of his nike vest, his smile told me it was benefit day and I knew my velour tracksuit would be hanging off the lamp shade tonight."as I stood in line at the Job Centre thinking of reas...ons I couldn't work, a sweet smell drifted past my pig like nostrils. It was a mixture of weed, B.O and Lynx Africa. I turned around and there was Dwayne. Our eyes met and he was soon lifting me onto the wheelie bins behind Iceland. He had tied up his Staffy to the block in the ally way so we wouldn't be disturbed. There was a tramp watching but it just added to the mystery. I knew it was love and my life would never be the same... ♥

Right finished The Initiation of Ms Holly! Loved it :) lots of variety and no repetition like 50 Shades! I couldn't put it down! I just wish there was a sequel haha I would definitely recommend it to anyone that like the idea of 50 Shades but didn't like the writing or lack of stimulating sex scenes! Wrote a review of it on here with a bit more information in, will let you know when it's up :)
Any other suggestions??

I think the only thing that will be remembered from 50 shades is the term "kinky fuckery"

Haha agreed. But if what's featured in the book is what will forever be known as 'kinky fuckery' then I think we're going to need a whole new phrase for the next level of kink. I still maintain that 50 shades is actually pretty tame...

wonder how many people have turned up to accident and emergency with serious problems in their hands from using ties for bondage
ties are not particuarly safe - they self tighten!
also the whole ben wa / kegel balls thing - i struggle to see how they'd be so interesting while being spanked over someones knee, surley there's not enough movement?

Very good point. I've heard alot of talk about how we'll see a baby boom at the beginning of 2013 & it'll be the '50 Shades' effect haha.
They do. And as with any type of bondage & S&M play, if not done properly it can be dangerous.
I haven't tried that yet but I have been spanked with a dildo inside me & that did feel pretty good so can only assume it's a similar thing. And having the balls yanked out at just the right moment sounds amazing.
