So who else has heard the buzz about 50 Shades of Grey? What do you make of it? Who's going to be buying it when it comes out in paperback (17th April - put it in your diary!)?
Some news pieces:
http://thestir.cafemom.com/love_sex/135088/50_shades_of_grey_could
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2120689/Hit-erotic-novel-Fifty-Shades-Grey-movie--racy-big-screen.html?i
I have a confession to make though, I have an advance copy...

The question is, will I be brave enough to read it in the park this weekend?

Hmm... see, I have huge concerns with the book from what I've heard so far - so maybe I should read it to make an informed decision about it, if you see what I mean?
My issue is that from what I've read about the basic plot, the main male character's interest in BDSM is grounded in him being 'messed up' to at least some degree - which, in all honesty, I flinch at a little.
But we shall see!

have been reading about this today- Alice I never knew you graduated from Cambridge! It is nice to see a paragraph about Lovehoney. I think the book sounds interesting but from what I am reading, a little tame for me.
Have been waiting for it to come out since Eroticon, very pleased that it's so positive.
For everyone else - here's the article if you haven't seen it:
The women breaking the last taboo.

I've read a bit of it on my Kindle. So far, honestly, I didn't enjoy it. I might give it a serious go to see why it's popular. After all, we have our own tastes - which is why I hate Twilight, but respect those who do.
Also, I do like the fact that it's giving women confidence in sex. I can't really quarrel with the book with that.

I downloaded this and the other two books in the trilogy on my Kindle..and read them all in less than two days. Overall the trilogy is more Mills & Boon than your average BDSM story but it has it's moments. The second book is a bit of a disappointment but the third ties it all up (excuse the pun) nicely ;)

Was a little surprised to see it on sale in Morrison's supermarket as part of their 2 for £8 deal Can't help but wonder if their powers that be have read it.

I read today that this book started life as a Twilight fanfiction but has been heavily redrafted since.
