Eroticon 2012 - Sex Bloggers and Erotica Writers Conference

In theory bristol is an hour by train but with buses etc, it's 2hrs.  not a big thing but buses stop early from reading to mine.  I'd be looking at spending £150 for the day, so for this event as my parents can't baby sit, it may cost £170 just to wrangle a babysitter.  My eldest is autistic so i can't just leave him with anyone and the only lass who has experience with children like my son, doesn't come cheap :(

I am gutted :( but i bet it will be an amazing day, hope you all have fun and take lots of piccies lol

 Oh goodness I didn't mean to make anyone feel bad - I honesty don't expect everyone to drop everything to come to a lil conference I'm organising.  I really hope that there will be more opportunities to meet people and get to know them at other times.

Oh no, I don't feel bad at all, just gutted I can't go.  Although with plenty of notice with future events, i shall be moving heven and hell to get there lol

You should take it as a compliment that so many of us no-go folk are crying over not being able to attend, and plotting how to wrangle it next year! (fingers crossed)

Intern, dip into savings, make it a one-day round trip to save on accommodation, and pull in every babysitting favour you've ever been owed.

Then sit back and dream about all the lovely sessions, swag, freebies, demos, Lovehoney tester stall, and vouchers to spend afterwards. And there will be some wonderful people there too, by the way.

I think, that if it wasn't around 6 hours over there and 6 hours back and me having to get a lift or staying on a trainstation for 3 hours before the trains start, I would do this,,, I've done it before for other event, but often these events last only 2 hours and mean 48 hours of no sleep.... If I tried this for this event I'd probably end up with 36+ hours no sleep... times like this I wish I could sleep on trains or buses but I get very bad travel sickness.

Still really want to go. But I'm with Bashful Babe, hopefully next year we'll have more planning time, it'll be easier, and we'll have money saved! =D

If any of you were ever wondering about planning a conference, y'know just for a laugh, um dont! Not if you want your sanity to stay in tact.  Actually if you were planning a conference, I'd have to say your sanity left the building a L O N G time ago!

so um just 9 days (tries not to shriek) till Eroticon and I'm feeling just a tiny bit stressed. Does it show?

I've been thinking about coming along but still can't decide... I'm very very firmly in the wishy-washy wannabe category so not sure if I'd be way out of my depth... but on the other hand, it sounds like it'll be so awesome and fun, *and* I live in Bristol - it'd be rude not to when I'm so local, right? ;)

I get paid tomorrow so if there are still tickets left at the weekend I might just go for it...

Oh, and meant to say as well - hope you're feeling better Mr M. I sympathise with fighting off horrible bugs: I'm recovering from whooping cough at the mo. Yuk. Still more than a week to get fighting fit, though - hope you'll be fine in time!

Well, that was quite an experience!

A lovely venue, a really interesting mix of speakers and delegates, fun topics under discussion, all kinds of funky things to look at and play with (although I have to say I was not a big fan of the bacon flavoured lube), good food, a well-stocked erotic bookshop, bags full of swag, kink demos, burlesque performances, lucky-dip prizes (Liberator sex furniture! But the lucky lady was going home on the train . . .), and best of all, the chance to finally meet the lovely Ruby and the absolutely fabulous Lovehoney team!

Let me assure everyone, they are even nicer in person than they seem online. Yes, really.

Although I have to say some members of the Lh crew showed a remarkable lack of stamina by heading straight home to bed, others were planning to party on until the small hours. I'll leave it to you to work out which was which. . .

A fab time was had by all, I think, and I certainly made some friends in the world of publishing and sex blogging.

So, what's the plan for next year?

We had a GREAT time, and really enjoyed meeting those of you we did (mentioning no names, but you guys know who you are). Yes, the other Lovehoney gals were out till 5am, but I curled up in bed with my dinner. Had three late Lovehoney nights last week, so that's my excuse.
