Who bought the first sex toy in your relationship?

We know that there are loads of Lovehoney customers in relationships who use all sorts of toys as part of their day-to-day sex lives. The question was though, when in a relationship who takes the plunge and buys the first sex toy?

We asked the question, ‘Who bought the first sex toy in your relationship?’ and got some interesting results. It seems that when it comes to Lovehoney customers that men are more likely to buy the first sex toy.

Almost 45% of those who voted said that it was the male partner who bought the first toy in their relationship. Only 35% said that it was the female partner who introduced the first sex toy.

The smallest amount of votes went to the answer, ‘We bought it together’. Only 20% of those who voted said that they made a joint decision about the first toy in their relationship.

Our new poll, ‘Which is your favourite 69 position?’ is now up and running!

If you fancy discussing your vote visit the Which is your favourite 69 position? thread on the Lovehoney forum.

Once again, we’d like to thank everyone who voted in our last poll and posted in the forum - we love hearing from you!

Have you experienced female ejaculation poll

Female ejaculation is often considered as the holy grail of sex. Notoriously difficult to achieve because of the amount of time and G-spot stimulation needed - reserved for porn stars and the lucky few.

Our poll: 'Have you ever experienced female ejaculation?' produced some really interesting (and surprising!) results.

It turns out that among Lovehoney customers, female ejaculation isn't rare - it's actually quite common!

Over 56% of people say that they have experienced female ejaculation compared to just 43% who say they haven't.

Our new poll: "Who bought the first sex toy in your relationship?" is now up and ready for your votes.

If you fancy discussing your vote you can do so on the forum thread Who bought the first sex toy in your relationship?

Thank you to everyone who participated in our last poll!

Cambridge is the Sexiest University

Oxford University may have been four lengths ahead in this year's Boat Race, but Cambridge University is four times more sexy.

We have pitted the UK's two foremost prestigious Universities, renowned more for their brains than their sexiness, against one another in a bid to find out who spends less time in the library, and more time in the bedroom!

Whilst Oxford University won the Boat Race, Cambridge University students would certainly win the horizontal marathon, buying four times more sex toys than Oxford students.

Amongst the most popular products bought by Cambridge's seemingly rather affluent students are luxury vibrators,  such as the Lelo Liv Luxury Rechargeable Vibrator. Oxford students lived up to their bookish reputations, spending 2.3 times the national average on erotic books. The romantically inclined Oxford students spend 2.2 times the national average on sex toys for couples, perhaps indicating their more considerate, sharing nature.

This is not the first time Oxbridge has been linked to more saucy activities. Popular blog Sex at Oxbridgefollows the expoits of an unidentified Oxbridge student, as she battles her way through the minefield that is the student dating scene. Judging by our research, we'd be willing to bet she's a Cambridge student!

Ann Widdecombe Snubs BlueBella at Women of Worth Awards 2011

BlueBella have hit the headlines in both the Daily Mail and Daily Express today after CEO Emily Bendell was snubbed by Ann Widdecombe at the Women Of Worth Awards, 2011.

Bendell was due to be presented the Small Business of the Year Award by Ann Widdecombe, who was guest of honour at the annual ceremony, celebrating women's contribution to business.

After seeing a short film outlining Bendell's lingerie and lovestuff business, Widdecombe swiftly declined to present the award to her, leaving her standing until one of the organisers quickly stepped in.

emily-award"It was a real surprise to me that it happened at an event that was meant to celebrate the success of women. It certainly took the shine out of the day for me," said Bendell. "Ann is a great proponent of women getting ahead by their own merits so I would have hoped that she would have recognised my acheivements."

Ann eventually agreed to have a photo taken with Emily, off-stage, and without the award.

Over the past few weeks, LoveHoney HQ has been inundated with gorgeous new lingerie lines, and amongst it there's been a huge amount of crotchless lingerie. From crotchless tights and bodystockings to crotchless knickers, every manner of easy, breezy underwear has been piling up on our desks and demanding attention. But what exactly is it that makes a crotchless thong so enticing? And is crotchless underwear actually sexy?

Unable to make up our minds, Hella Rouge and I put a poll on the blog, asking Is Crotchless Underwear a Turn On?

Rabbit vibrators are generally considered to be toys purely for use by woman. With their vibrating ears and rotating shaft, they're ideally designed to stimulate the clitoris and G-spot. But would those delicious ears work well on the male anatomy? And what about that romping, rotating shaft?

Now, we get rabbit vibrator reviewsfairly often from men reporting on how well their chosen gift had gone down with their partner, but this week it was all about the men going solo with a rabbit vibrator. The topic even spilled over into the LoveHoney Forum, with a member starting the thread Any guys used a Rabbit?

Whether you're a man looking to buy a rabbit or a woman thinking about experimenting with your partner, read on to find out what our reviewers say in their sex toy reviewsabout what the rabbit vibrator can do for a man.

An avid sex toys reviewer, masterandslave has just written her 100th review. "It’s only been during my time on the LoveHoney Forum that I have begun to write reviews regularly. In doing so I have discovered an enjoyment for writing about items I feel passionately about."

With her new found-passion for writing we asked masterandslave, a straight female who has been with her other half for nearly 10 years, to tell us all about her sex toy collection.

Sex toys have a lot to answer for; they have helped spice things up, but they have also helped my partner and I to discover new pleasures that are just impossible to achieve with the human body. Toys for me have never been a replacement for my other half, but something we use together to explore pleasure further. Even when used on our own they then become a stepping-stone when we have been frustrated, waiting to see each other again! The world of sex toys also encompasses sexual comfort. Whilst going au naturale does have its perks it's also an uncomfortable truth for me. I have never had an orgasm without using some form of lubricant, and without this assistance things are just too painful and never enjoyable.

London Fetish Weekend 2010 - A First-Time Fetish Club Experience

October is my favourite time of year. Aside from the joys of Halloween, which I think is better than Christmas, I also look forward to my annual voyage to London Fetish Weekend. Arguably the biggest event in the UK fetish calendar, it's an opportunity to pull out all of the stops and go sexually wild as our fair capital embraces everything BDSM for three days and nights of kink. But this year I didn't take my usual role as a model. Instead I was on a mission for LoveHoney. Armed with a pen and paper and a top scene photographer, I documented a vanilla couple's first tentative steps into the Bacchic world of the London fetish scene.

From pre-club jitters to end of night epiphanies, read on to discover first hand what my vanilla couple thought of their first fetish scene experience.
