Local Collect ExplainedFor the majority of consumers, there is nothing more frustrating than waiting in for a delivery. Even with Lovehoney's tracked delivery, no one can argue that it is a slight gripe having to reschedule your life and stay indoors, waiting for the postie to arrive with your new purchases and feeling like a social recluse!

If you don't have time to schedule a delivery day or don't feel comfortable choosing a safe place for the postman to leave your parcel full of goodies, you may be interested in using our newest service: Local Collect.

Local Collect is a new delivery service, anchored by Lovehoney, that means you can arrange to have your parcel delivered to a local post office, where you can pick it up at your convenience. This is an excellent option for those who don't have the time or routine to wait in for a delivery at their home. It also offers extra discretion for those who might have overly nosy neighbours or live with very inquisitive, small people (also known as children)!

Read on to find out more about using Local Collect...

Trying out Local Collect couldn't be easier. During checkout, simply choose the Local Collect option and as soon as your postcode is entered, you will be given three or four post office locations near to your home address that have the Local Collect facility available. All you have to decide is when and where. No fuss and everything is met at your disposal and convenience!

You must be thinking that this all too sounds good to be true and there must be some complicated and fandangled method into retrieving your parcel from the depths of the post office. Wrong! Local Collect is to make things super simple and as flexible as possible. Your parcel will be shipped to the most convenient location for you, and we'll even let you know the opening hours of your chosen post office during checkout. Your parcel will be held there for 18 days, until you are ready to go and collect it.

When the time comes for you to go and retrieve your goodies, be it yourself or someone on your behalf, all you will need to take is your Royal Mail tracking number (you'll find this in your dispatch email) and identification of the addressee. This can include the following:

    • Cheque guarantee/credit/debit card
    • Bank/building society book
    • Valid passport
    • Cheque book
    • Driving licence
    • Photo Identity Card (Foreign National, Military, Police Warrant, Royal Mail Employee)

Now you're free to take home your parcel and play the night away!

Please note that unlike other collect options, picking up your parcel is completely FREE and should be as hassle and worry-free as possible! Therefore, it is our pleasure (and yours) to say that Lovehoney has gone the extra inch once again to ensure that our service is as efficient and discreet as possible.

A good point made CK! Unfortunately, the option for Local collect is only available by card. I have passed your comments on to see if payment methods for this service can be reviewed :-)

The paypal rumour is absolutely correct. In my experience Local Collect cannot be used with paypal . This is despite being informed many times by Lovehoney LiveChat and in an e-mail from Lovehoney that Local Collect can be used with Paypal. Confused - I am especially after seeing the Lovehoney post here stating it cannot.

Hi RJT- I have had this confirmed so I am sorry if you were misinformed. The Local collect service is completely new to all of us and I believe this was not initially known until our IT staff did some digging. I hope this clears this up for you.

      :-)
