    Anyone for Coffee?

    Working with sex toys every day means strange and enlightening things pass ours desk regularly (the Jack Boot Spanking Paddle springs to mind) but at least once a day we'll see something that makes us exclaim "Well that's quite interesting...".

    Bearing that in mind, we decided to round up the best writing on the web about sex, sexuality, relationships and, of course, sex toys for your enjoyment this dreary August Bank Holiday.

    • Over on BlogHer, they're pondering the question: Do Humans Have a Mating Season? Check out the blog for a full and in-depth analysis, but for the executive summary: “It looks like there's a six-month cycle, and the 'vacation and holiday effect' is in force.”
    • According to our recent survey (Think You’re Noisy in the Bedroom? You’re Not Alone...) 94% of women feel they are louder than their partners in bed. There are many theories behind why this may be, and this interesting wiki article on Female Copulatory Vocalization explores a number of them (the article does presume a male-female pairing, we wonder if there’s any research about female copulatory vocalization in lesbian relationships?).
    • This week, we were discussing being sapiosexual on the Lovehoney forum. Sapiosexuality is the idea that intelligence is the single most important factor in sexual attraction to another person - and everything else falls into an order after that. Check out the thread.

      Hi to all at Lh ,It's not nice having to spend bh in the office.I must say I absolutely loved the wonderland video very clever.I wouldnt want to fall down that hole lol.My favourite has to be the Kinky kat he's cute and I like the shape.The pleasurepillar came a very very close second again I love the shape it's different to anything else I've seen.

      I think the article on a human mating season didn't give enough significance to the fact people have holidays in winter and summer. I believe people get married in summer because the sun shines not because of a change in libido.

      The Doc Johnson toys look good but the colours are a bit garish, at least the packaging looks nice.

      I am surprised any men are noiser than their partners (if our neighbours are anything to go by.

      And I would also think, as a general thing, women are more vocal than men. I have yet to read an article (see todays papers about a couple being arrested for their noisy bonking sessions!) where a man has had to be told to quieten down. It may be out there, but I've not yet read it.

      And as for the DJ toys . . Well. I'd have to have a bash at the Pleasurepillar, and actually have a G spot toy for our bedroom box!

      And intelligence as being a sexual attractant?

      You have to ask though, you notice someone, across the room/club/work, and you don't think 'mmmm Nice intelligence' do you? you will probably check him/her out (backside, breasts, face, general appearance) it's only when you speak to that person, do you actually realise if they're any good at stringing a sentence together.

      Personally, IQ, although a nice thing to have, doesn't rate high on my list. I'd prefer a good personality more. But hey, that's just me!

      I think the Kinky Cat is the most visually appealing of the new vibes but I imagine the Pleasurepillar would be the most effective in use.

      Dildo Island looks like a rather nice place to visit, although I'd probably be sniggering whenever I'd have to say where I'm going/where I went on vacation.

      I remember you bringing up the mating season question on Twitter. Really, it seems only natural that we would have a mating season. Afterall, women do go into heat, although it's not as obvious in our species than in others. After I had suspected myself of a cycle of horniness, I decided to do a little research:

      As for being louder in bed, I know I am. My husband has said I'm a screamer. I'm not that loud... lol I may be noisy, but I doubt the neighbors can hear me.

      The topic of intelligence relating to sexual attraction is interesting. I remember, when I was just dating my husband, I had thought he was the smarter one. After a couple of years of living together, I've found out otherwise and it's been very trying with my patience. And, of course, sexual desire goes down the tube when I'm annoyed at him for doing something stupid. If he does/says something smart, though, that doesn't necessarily mean I'll be all over him. I guess I fell more for the geeky look and personality, because I didn't exactly get the geek brains to go with it.

      The Kinky Kat is adorable, but I can't help thinking I'd need to get a toothbrush out every time I'd need to clean it. All those little nooks and crannies...

      The sapiosexuality article was very interesting to say the least.Personally I think the summer,winter scenario is more fiction than fact.I have 3 children first born was December,secon in august,third in September.Obviously more couples tend to stay in more during the winter months because it's to cold,therefore spend more alone time together hence more sex.and it's also been proven that people use up more energy when it's cold so therefore are more likely to feel to tired after work to go out.As for summer people are more highly sexed due to an increase of vitamin D from the sun.in general majority of people are on a high when the weather is warm ,theres also an increase of alcohol consumption leading to a higher libido and lots of sex.Im not to sure about the noise difference between the male and female species I think that all depends on how good a partner you have lol.well I enjoyed the read and I must add I thought the pic of the lips by the coffee cup was hilarious well done for that .x
