I am attracted to both men and women and I don't know what to do.

Don’t feel you have to identify yourself as being either straight or gay – it’s perfectly OK to be bisexual, and this does not mean that you’re ‘sitting on the fence’ sexually, or that you’re greedy!

    Question for Julie

I am attracted to both men and women and I don’t know what to do. I feel very lonely cause I have gay friends but I don’t just want to sleep with men as I get turned on by women too. I don't know if I am gay or striaght and I don’t feel I fit in with anybody. My friend says I am just greedy.

This isn’t about greed – it’s about your sexual orientation. There is a spectrum of sexuality going from 100% heterosexual to 100% homosexual, and it’s my belief that most of us fall somewhere in between. This might involve just being emotionally attracted to someone or becoming intimate physically. Bisexual people can often feel confused initially about their sexual orientation and it doesn’t help that society gets confused, too. Being bisexual means that you are not placing limits on your sexuality. You are attracted to both genders – though it probably won’t be as straightforward as a 50/50 split.
