The Best BDSM Erotica From Silver Moon Books

Silver Moon brings intellectual fetishism to our range of erotic titles. For those who like to feel every moment of intimate submission and care to empathise with the ragingly dominant antagonist cum protagonist in BDSM literature, our newest editions to the Lovehoney bookcase won't fail to impress.

Bonny had considered ordering these titles and gave me a couple to take away with me. I started with The Slave Path – I, and one page in, I could already tell that this was going to be one of the most explicit and exciting BDSM novellas I had ever read. I'll warn you now, the content of these titles is no-holds-barred. Expect shocking language, embellished acts of sadism and explicit sexual content.

When reading The Slave Path – I by Francine Whittaker, it was immediately obvious that I was reading a book penned by a submissive fetishist. The language is superbly verbose, with the smallest details over-emphasised to the point of exhaustion. This can often be a turn-off when it comes to the written word, but not in the world of BDSM. Why? Well, imagine if you will that you are one of Solomon's (the lead Dominant Male in this title) captive slaves. You're tethered with your legs akimbo to a dirty, compound floor. Your movements limited, offering little more than your peripheral vision to take in the sights as you're weighted heavily under your own emotional exhaustion, fear and inexplicable arousal. In your attempts to quell your fear and quiet your mind, your overly-analytical sense of survival has you scanning everything in sight to assess your options – of which there are none. You notice every detail, you see shapes and metaphors in all that you survey. This is but one of the many reasons I find Francine Whittaker's work so compelling – she knows this lifestyle, she knows the mindset and she is beautifully articulate with her expression of the same.

Her ability to project the vast spectrum of emotions experienced by her submissive characters is at times alarming, as you find yourself 'taking a break' from the book in order to gather your composure in order to continue. When a fetish authoress is able to tap into your own psyche and make you feel uncomfortable, you know she's doing something right.

In contrast to her starkly submissive style are titles penned by Sean O'Kane – a dominant author whose expertise lie in the first person viewpoint. His ability to command Dom characters often gives them level-headed personas, speaking volumes about his own fetishistic endeavours. Balancing punishment with reward and placing great emphasis on the training element of slavehood throughout his plot lines, his translation of the inner monologue of the supreme dominant is uncanny, often executed without egotism. Here is an author going some way to break down the stereotype that all Doms and Dommes are cruel, unyielding punishers without empathy or purpose and in the field of BDSM erotica, this is a welcome change. My favourite of his characters – Mr Masterson in 'Taming the Brat' is a considerate Dominant who strikes a beautifully harmony between vicious sadist and nurturing tutor, the type of chap who will have submissive women quivering as they read through his pursuits.

One to look out for in this series is 'Bad Blood' – a collaboration between Sean O'Kane and Francine Whittaker that works with the fluidity of a handcrafted, leather bullwhip. The fusion of their styles is a match made in BDSM Heaven and when both of their uniquely lifestyle-influenced experiences and personal kinks combine, the result is an electrical whirlwind of fetishistic erotica.

If you consider yourself to be an intellectual fetishist looking for something a little deeper to stimulate your mind as well as your genitalia, Whittacker and O'Kane are the obvious choice. With a plethora of both disturbingly shocking and sensual scenarios featuring an excellent array of very different Domme and sub characters, there will be at least one title in this collection that you'll read many times over.
