• How to look after and clean your Fleshlight sex toy

How to look after your Fleshlight A little tender loving care will go a long way to ensuring your Fleshlight male sex toy will give you a life-time of enjoyment.

After use, remove the gel Fleshlight insert from the plastic canister and run hot tap water through it to remove fluid deposits.

Towel-dry or air-dry the gel insert.

The gel insert will feel tacky or sticky after washing - this is normal.

To restore the original silky feeling of the insert, powder it with corn starch. Powdering it is not necessary to care for the insert.

To properly re-position the gel insert inside the plastic canister, reach through the small end of the canister and pull the insert down into place.

    More information about Fleshlight cleaning

Using soap or detergents to clean your gel insert will deteriorate the surface of the gel insert, resulting in a tackier feel.

Some people have asked if there could be a coating on the gel insert to lessen the tackiness. Unfortunately, the coatings that are currently available are toxic and may cause rashes.

The Fleshlight makers consider customers' health and well-being first, and will not use any substance that is not considered safe in every way.

They are constantly working to improve our products. Once a safe coating is available to us, we will make it available to our customers as well.

The Fleshlight male sex toy was designed by the manufacturer for single-person use only. Do not share!

We accept no responsibility for improper or multiple-partner use of Fleshlight products.

My Fleshlight had developed black spots, that don't come off. What is this mole or what? I rise it and dry it every time and use corn starch. It has now happening to a second one.
    • The Professor: July 15, 2008 11:51
You must make sure the Fleshlight is COMPLETELY dry inside after cleaning, otherwise this can happen.
    • gerry: August 19, 2008 20:16
I have used my fleshlite for the first time, the feeling is awesom & i warmed it with hot water, sooo nice, but i find it awkward to turn insert inside out to dry it after cleaning and then reverse procedure allso can i use baby powder to restore silky feel.thanks for a super sexy product.
    • philip: September 02, 2008 14:35
can You recommend where I can get corn starch powder from please
    • Steve: September 02, 2008 15:29
Hi, cornstarch powder should be available from the bigger chemists such as Boots and Superdrug. Johnson's makes a brand of its Baby Powder with cornstarch.
    • will: October 11, 2008 19:24
"Cornstarch" is the American word for what we Brits call "cornflour" - it's available in any supermarket, and will either be with the flours or Gravy (It's used to thicken sauces)
    • Dave: December 10, 2008 21:24
cornflour, ok, but wouldnt it just mix with the moisture and make a nasty gooey mess or sticky lumps?
    • KID: December 15, 2008 23:19
do we use it with or without condoms?

After cleanng is it all right to apply baby powder?

    • Jason: December 22, 2008 05:19
I just used my fleshlight for the first time and it was very nice indeed. I found I had to lube my cock as well as the gel insert to slide well.

Anyone ever try a buddy entering the other end at the same time? Does it work well with two guys pumping into it?

    • Kláus: January 02, 2009 17:12
My last fleshlight insert developed tears and splits in the material from having to turn it inside out to dry the inside, and is now unusable..
Does anyone know an easier way of drying the inside of the fleshlight, without turning it inside out?
    • hardwood552: January 02, 2009 17:39
I was told by someone to use a 3/4 piece of pbc pipe/tube insert it not to far,one one each end it will open it up for air to dry it fast with a hair dryer on low blow hot air into the opening of the tube. The pbc tubes keep the insert open. I tried it, it works but time consuming. Later
    • Mark Harper: January 17, 2009 18:05
I just open both ends and leave mine on the radiator over night that tends to do it....
    • MrP: February 24, 2009 21:35
I've just started to use my two new Butt Fleshlights. One is a Super Tight Ribbed and the other an Ultra Tight Smooth.

After reading the tips above I did just that. Washed them in hot water, dried the cases, towel dried the inserts and, using an old salt shaker, rubbed cornflour into the outsides. It was like powdering a real butt (I just had to kiss them :) )

I pushed a paper towel through the inner channels, a bit tight with the ultra but it worked.

I opened both ends, shook cornflour inside and worked it in with my fingers. It was fun.

They look like they'd just been delivered again.

Am finding them too sensitive to finish with at the momment. Does it get easier with practice?

    • Mark Harper: February 25, 2009 10:28
Yes it get easier, they loose there tighness after a while, I have an ice lady wonder wave, a butt standard and a butt super tight and the super tight has certainly got some more give than when it was new......

An awesome stamina training device, a lot of that sensitivity is due to excitement, I find I last longer when I'm tired, I go average 4-6 times in it in a session, just takes practice but wow what a toy, mind blowing!!!!
      Mark.
P.S. Those of you who are new to Fleshlights and have the new case, you should really try the original case, so much more suction!!! They are sold here. (Love honey).

    • Mr. Ideas: March 12, 2009 07:20
      A SOLUTION FOR CLEANING.

If you have a wet/dry vac, hold your freshly cleaned Fleshlight up near the OUT air hole. I hold the bottom end of the sleeve up to the out air hole because that end has a bigger opening. This will blow any moisture out of the sleeve within a few minutes.

    • Roger: March 13, 2009 08:02
Jason - regarding your post about two-ended use; It's very good - the suction is insane; although you have to be aware that there's going to be some bumping into each other in there. But even that sensation ain't so bad.
    • Jason: March 14, 2009 01:38
Thanks Roger. I hope to find someone to do that with, especially now I know the suction is good that way.
    • Will: March 14, 2009 11:14
Mark - how do I know if i have a new or old case? - what do the 2 cases look like?
    • MARK HARPER: March 17, 2009 20:12
Hi Will, The new case has little cut outs near the thread on the narrow end of the case when you take the small cap off, the old one hasn't....

Also both cases are ribbed to help you keep hold of it when wet, the old case has lots of narrow lines for grip the new case has 5 finger width apart lines on each side....

      Hope this was helpful, Mark.

P.S. another tip I could give for thos looking to buy a fleshlight or another, try the butt versions as they give a better seal for suction and fluid loss,as I find my lady inner or (Vagina) allowes fluid dribble as it is more of an open entrance, much like the real thing I suppose.... Mark.

    • phil: March 18, 2009 09:23
The orifice of my original fleshlight has a slight green colour to it after not using it for some time. How can i clean/remove this? Phil
    • Jai: March 28, 2009 13:45
I LOVE MY NEW FLESHLIGHT! Went to a porn show and got it at a great price. I'm almost embarassed to say that the first time I used it, it only took about a minute and a half to get off. I've never gotten off so quickly.
    • Will: March 28, 2009 14:34
      Thanx Mark!
    • Jak: April 22, 2009 10:30
I just ordered mine, never looked forward to wankling this much before!
    • Nicos: May 12, 2009 22:12
Please clarify. Am I to use the cornstarch on the interior as well as the exterior of the fleshlight?? Thanx for your time- Nico
    • Jak: May 13, 2009 12:54
Well it arrived... best thing i've ever bought. worth ever penny, i want different inserts now!
    • Jason: May 13, 2009 19:03
Good to hear Jak. I love using mine. Hoping to find others locally to join in.
    • Me: May 20, 2009 21:15
well i might have to buy one of these fleshlights, the idea of 2 ended use with another guy really turns me on lol, especially the bumping together, and maybe cumming together so close together, mmm, anyone else like the sound of this?
    • Jason: May 20, 2009 21:33
2-ended use would definitely be hot. One guy cumming and the other guy using his buddy's cum as lube. Nice idea for a group thing - pass the fleshlight from one guy to another, leaving the last guys' cum inside for lube.
    • me: May 20, 2009 22:59
Cool, would also love to get a guy to rub his helmet up and down it before easing himself in and out then letting me do the same, keep swapping it until one of us is ready to cum deep inside it, then the other does the same adding his load, you have an email jason?
    • Mark Harper: May 22, 2009 20:07
Holy Sh;t guys, it's an awesome toy but I'm sure sure there's a more apropriate site for some of these ideas, comments always welcome but you might wanna take the rest to xtube.com.... lol. ; ) Mark.
    • Jason: May 23, 2009 04:57
Mark, we're posting comments to a site selling a masturbatory toy. It's a fleshlight, not an easy-bake oven...LOL. The comments dealt with using the toy and, thus, are totally appropriate.
    • LoveHoney - Carly: May 25, 2009 09:52
Ummm... Actually guys, this conversation isn't particularly appropriate. Especially as you're commenting on a blog entitled 'How to look after and clean your Fleshlight' with the official advice: "The Fleshlight male sex toy was designed by the manufacturer for single-person use only. Do not share!"

And using this as a meet-up board isn't particularly appropriate either. I would suggest using Adult Friend Finder for these kinds of things.

    • jak: May 26, 2009 12:44
whats the reason for the official "do not share" stance? is it really just to avoid spreading sti's? or is there another reason?
An i agree, this is not the place for posts about how to get off using a flesh light!
    • LoveHoney - Carly: May 26, 2009 14:11
Yes, Fleshlights shouldn't be shared due to the possible transmission of sexual transmitted diseases and because the other end of the Fleshlight is not designed for safe penetration.

The actually plastic casing is only 2 inches in diameter at the opposite end and with the sleeve around 1.6 inches thick, its just not big enough for entry and will probably result in injury.

    • David: June 23, 2009 07:01
Hmm I recently bought my fleshlight on here less than 2 weeks ago.. Its been used about 4 times so far.. and I notice the front of it, the material seems to be deteriorating badly.. I have a tear following the detail of the butt in a circle around the hole you insert your cock.. There also seems to be other damage its like little pock marks over several areas of its surface.. Im wondering should I try return it? Is it defective?
    • LoveHoney - Carly: June 23, 2009 10:03
      Hi David,

Are you cleaning and drying your Fleshlight properly? The pock-marks may be due to bacteria build up but this can easily be solved by following the instructions above.

Also, what lubricant are you using? Oil or silicone based lubricants can be quite damaging and break down the material in your Fleshlight so make sure you're only using water-based.

From what you've said, there may be a fault with your Fleshlight, so get in contact with Customer Services, listing which Fleshlight and which lube you're using, for a little more help: www.lovehoney.co.uk/help/contact-us/

Hope I've been of some help!

    • Luke: November 02, 2009 01:56
I recently borought my second insert, as it wasn't in a case it was pretty much left in screwed up ball in the bottom of a box on delivery. As a result it was left with a sort of fold In the middle of it and now I am having trouble when cleaning it Ect. Is there anyway to unfold it? I have had it stored it in the case But it hasn't got any better. Shall I contact customer support?

      Thanks

    • Phil: November 09, 2009 18:39
Any owner of a Fleshlight will have stories and advice for cleaning them. I can only share my experience and what seems to work for me.
Firstly, I don't bother with the cornstarch thing. Yes, you will find the insert becomes tacky on occasion, but you will be constantly reapplying said powder because without doubt, the best way to use the Fleshlight is nice and warm after a soak in hot water. Domestic hot tap only chaps, do NOT use a kettle, not even to top up the sink. If your hands can't stick it, it is way too hot and you will regret it quickly and painfully.
As to cleaning, I run hot water through the insert and carefully use fingers to aid the rinse. Do not try to be extra scrupulous and vigorous as you may find that the material will split and reduce its effectiveness and performance. A good thorough rinse is fine, and then spend a few moments shaking off and out the excess water.
As to drying, I found that the pink inserts pick up fluff from bathroom towels that is nigh impossible to remove without, I suspect, some type of cleaner that would probably damage it as well. The clear insert does not seem so susceptible to this, but I had learned my lesson with the pink one and now only shake dry.
As to storage, I loosely reinsert it to the case. By this, I mean not installed as for use. I think it is important that air can move through the case. A lot of the problems with mould and black spots etc must come from damp and 'sealed' storage. Whatever you do, don't put into a plastic bag between uses as the bacteria present goes berserk and it does not smell pleasant, a bit like the sour smell in washed clothes that have not aired properly, but worse actually.
However, I must stress that I use my Fleshlights regularly (yes, I could wank for England) and so they are cleaned as often and not sealed away in the depths of a cupboard. If I had the luxury of being able to leave it on view I am sure I would somehow rig up a holder to allow it to air dry.
    • Mark Harper: November 09, 2009 19:01
Yeah this is almost the exact routine I use to clean mine, except after patting dry the ends I stick them on the radiator over night as this is super effective at drying the inside, although I have got a couple of marks on the outside of the insert so I think the balancing in the case and not fitting is a top tip I will use this from now on.
    • JAK: November 10, 2009 10:40
I rinse mine under a warm tap then fit it upside down on wire kitchen towel holder overnight. works a treat.
    • Dick Barton: December 18, 2009 10:53
Are there any issues with using a condom with your fleshlight, such as the latex or lube damaging the cyberskin? I imagine that using a condom would keep the toy a lot cleaner and so make it easier to maintain ...
    • LoveHoney - Carly: December 18, 2009 11:21
      Hi Dick Barton,

No issues at all with using a condom with your Fleshlight - in fact, it's a very good idea!

The 'Real Feel Super Skin' contains no materials that will react with condoms, however we do recommend sticking to ones coated in water-based lubricant as silicone lube can be damaging.

      Hope this information helps!
    • Dick Barton: December 20, 2009 18:46
      Many thanks, Carly.

I generally use use Condomi Natural, which do have a spermicidal lube, but I don't know whether it's water or silicone-based. Would those be OK or - if not - could you recommend a similar condom with a water-based lube?

    • Dick Barton: December 20, 2009 18:48
Sorry - forgot to check the e-mail box!
    • LoveHoney - Carly: December 21, 2009 08:44
      Hi Dick Barton,

You're very welcome! I believe Condomi Nature are coated in a water-based lubricant so you should be fine. Just make sure to still give your Fleshlight a quick clean afterwards, and you won't have to worry about any lubrication build-up.

      Hope that helps!
    • Dick Barton: December 21, 2009 11:05
Excellent stuff. Thanks for all your help, Carly.

Merry Christmas ... me too ;)

    • LoveHoney - Carly: December 21, 2009 14:50
      You're very welcome, Dick!

Have a very naughty Christmas. ;)
    • Nick: February 24, 2010 19:06
I have the ice but one, but I have noticed a slight pink discolouration appearing about 3/4 of the way down. I have been cleaning it with hot water and even turned it inside out to see what it was but i cant seem to be able to remove it. Any ideas?
    • LoveHoney - Carly: February 25, 2010 08:31
      Hi Nick,

Are you storing your Fleshlight sleeve with anything else? Certain materials can react with each other, causing discolouration or even a melting effect.

Make sure that you store your Fleshlight sleeves separately, try to ensure that it doesn't come in to contact with rubber or silicone type materials and always make sure that it's washed and dried thoroughly.

      Hope this helps!
    • Nick: February 25, 2010 17:56
Na I just wash it out after use and put it back into the holder and dry it out, its a pale but vivid pink discolouration
    • LoveHoney - Carly: February 26, 2010 08:52
      Hi Nick,

It's generally advised that you dry the sleeve before putting it back in the case, just to prevent any bacteria or mould build-up, which might be what is causing the discolouration.

If you think there is a fault with your sleeve and you bought it within the last 365 days from LoveHoney, you can always return it: www.lovehoney.co.uk/help/returns-policy/

uh, is it okay that im using this even though im only 12? ._.
    • kaz: June 15, 2010 18:31
I have a Flashlight and after washing it gets sticky, where can I buy cornstarch? What type of cornstarch can I use? Can I use normal cornstarch from the supermarket, and is cornstarch and cornflower the same?
    • Chris: July 07, 2011 00:29
I have a very fat cock, can you advise which model of flashlight would be the best & widest fit. I have read a few comments about them being on the tight side. It would also be good to get at least 7" of penetration please.
      Thanks
    • Mark: August 30, 2011 05:41
I bought a sex in a can fleshlight a couple of days ago, and after a few washes its incredibly sticky so I gather I need corn flour.

Also while washing it I looked inside and noticed it has 2 small tears in the material about half way down seems a bit naff after only a few uses.

I don't know if they will get worse or not since i'm not familiar with the material.

    • John: October 22, 2015 15:24
Is it okay to turn the fleshlight inside out to clean it quickly?
