    Adjustable Clit Clamp with Bell

I would guess that for the ladies, there isn't much out there that gives more of us a shudder the first time we hear about it than the clit clamp.  Which is reasonable, really, considering how sensitive a clit is and how terrifying a word 'clamp' can be.  But while it is understandable, that trepidation is largely unwarranted.  The clit clamp is a friendly little guy.  He just wants to be your buddy.

While you certainly can use the clamp to bring a bit of a pain to your antics (there is a reason why they are located under the Bondage and BDSM section, after all), it can also be adjusted so that it isn't painful, but that it does increase the sensitivity to your clit.  And it is very nearly a necessary purchase for women who have smaller, more hidden clits who have had disappointing nights when you didn't get anywhere near the stimulation you needed.  One thing a clamp is very good for is putting your little buddy front and centre for everyone to see with ease.

There are two basic types of clit clamps available at Lovehoney.  The first is the cute little Adjustable Clit Clamp with Bell that you see in the main picture.  This one is what I consider to be slightly tricksier when it comes to getting it properly positioned.  The two rubber coated tongs on the end are separate, like tweezers.  The idea is to slide the small hoop on the main shaft all the way down to give you the most movement in the tweezing action, and then place your clit directly between the two ends.  You can then slide the hoop up to tighten it to your pleasure (or pain).  This is good for women who know they can (or that their partners can) locate their clit easily and are pretty sure they want the full on squeeze they're going to get by sliding the hoop all the way up.  Or those who are just drawn to the bell.  Which... might include me, if I'm honest.  Isn't that little guy cute as the dickens?

The second model is one that is one full piece, with the top being a hoop rather than a tweezer shape.  Cleopatra's Pleasure Clip is an example of this.  In this model, you want to place the whole piece so that the hoop is a bit above where your clit is, spread the two ends apart (pulling on the beads to either direction accomplishes this easily) and let them close again once you've pressed the clamp closer to your body - thereby trapping your clit between the two sides.  You can then slide the clamp down further to ease the pressure - putting your clit in the top loop gives you a very light clamping sensation - or move the clip up, so that your clit is in the middle - this will be the tightest position.

Placing a clit clamp yourself can be a little fiddily and a mirror does help.  Trial and error can either be fun, if you like an occasional pinch, or kind of horrifying... if you don't.  This might be a good time to add a partner to the festivities.

You may find that there are enough benefits to put up with the initial awkwardness of putting it on, though.  They can be quite pretty on - and in a very endearingly exotic way.  One doesn't tend to see pretty beads, crystals, or bells in this area very often.  It can also be a lot of fun just trying to get it into position.  There is a lot of stroking and grabbing going on and that is often reward enough.  But with or without a partner, having your clit raised and squeezed increases the blood trapped and the amount of exposure - so you find that masturbation or oral sex is very much a heightened experience with a clamp on.

The prices on them are quite reasonable at the moment, so it might just be time to explore something new.  Or perhaps surprise a special someone by wearing some intimate jewellery...?
